I thought Dunks was back on the right today? Radio oxford said it was as same as Tuesday which benefits Nelson but does seriously effect dunkley Not sure why they've swooped it around again. Nelson''s so much better than Dunkley on the left side. Like I've said before, Dunkley's a liability at least once in a match, but put him there and it'll. e much more. He's not great on the ball either. Awful game today, especially the first half. And if you don't shoot you won't score or win games. Shame Maguire was out today, thought he might have been the difference, but we did look lacklustre at times.

I thought Dunks was back on the right today? Not sure he knows where he is! I have a feeling that once Carroll returns from internationals it will be dunks that gets rested. After the last two game (albeit on the radio today) it sounds like raglan should be getting a start, as he played well on the left when partnered with dunks while Nelson was injured

Dunks is out of contract at the end of the season, and from hearing MApp after the game I'm not sure Dunks will be here next year. References to not dwelling on things etc. Also more often than not he has been played by MApp out of position on the left on the 2 centre backs.

I really do feel for Dunkley. He has come so far in such a short period of time, and he is so hard on himself. But with most things in life your development plateau's to a certain extent after initial considerable improvements. It becomes about finer margins and takes much longer to fine tune. He's a tryer, I give him that. His headed clearances do however make me nervous! Another season perhaps he'll become more solid at league 1 level?

To me he looks like someone who has just made the jump a bit quick, Nelson has coped with it, dunks I'm not so sure is handling it so well. He's being caught out positionally more against better attackers, where as last season was more about just getting a head on it or body in front of it. I think he will get there, like others have said he has improved loads, maybe a season on loan at a decent l2 team would help him develop more

We need a new left half of the defence, plain and simple. Dunkley and a winger won't cut it if we want to go for the playoffs next season. We need a mobile left back and a naturally left sided centre back to compliment Nelson, who is absolutely our finest defender.
Frustrating today as despite the penalty I think they were there for the taking. First half we were second gear at best and probably got into third after the break. Third gear for 90 minutes and we'd have won, and probably still should've with Hemmings late on. Silly mistakes allowed them to threaten and beyond that they had nothing. Much like the home match on Boxing Day in all honesty.

Hemmings, my lord! Where is your killer instinct? For balance I'm not down on Hemmings, but he's missed a few sitters of late.

They've got to have their minds on Wembley, and half of them will be wondering if they'll play a part there or not. Not making excuses for them but it must affect them to some extent.

My view on the game - Walking into ground along with Northampton fans = not a Derby and not a rivalry We played football they didn't Sprinklers sorry sprinkler pmsl - tinpot Eastwood 👏👏👏 Playing for a draw, timewasting at 0-0 with 10 minutes to go at home - embarrassing Home side Singing 3 songs all day 2 of which were about last season - embarrassing Walking along the road with home fans after the match -= not a Derby and not a rivalry Easy trip home

Great odds on him to score first! I am going for 2-1 OUFC, Matty Taylor 1st to score though. Mate, I had him too. That penalty save cost us both and me quite a bit. Oh well. At lease we scraped a draw.

Dunks looks completely shattered. Has he played every match this season? I rate him usually and he's come a long way from Kidderminster Harriers, but he looks knackered, physically and mentally. MApp said that he's dwelling on mistakes and that sounds like the sort of thing you do when you're tired.

I think he has been great this season but the last few games he does seem to have had some difficult moments.

What a bland ground, what a passionless bunch of supporters Northampton have.
We should have won that. Hemmings continues fo give the impression of a thirty fags a day couch potato who's won the chance to be a professional footballer for a day. What a terrible miss that was.
Our man of the match was Ruffels; he's very sound in possession and has come on a ton this season.
Another good performance by Edwards; I enjoy watching him play.
Dunkley seemed to lose it in last half an hour. Thought Smith was a real handful and gradually wore him down.
Eastwood splendid again, a top penalty save.

On the train home, seeing the criticism for dunks I find astonishing!!! One of our most improved and best players over the past couple of seasons. Committed and reliable! A couple of "OK" performances and people want the bloke out! Unbelievable. I don't even think he had that bad a game today. Northampton away is a tough game, not really sure what people Expect.

If you thought Dunkley wasn't poor today, and if you think he's a player who can play every single week and get you promoted from League One, you need to stop drinking. He wasn't okay today, and although he IS largely okay with some games where he's decent, okay and decent won't get you out of this league. He's a third choice centre half and that's fine - I'm quite fond of the bloke because he cares and he tries hard, but that IS what he is. Curtis Nelson is the benchmark you need to match to progress. We need another defender of similar quality to him, who is naturally left sided. Baffled that some people cling on to sentiment so dearly. We should always look to improve. Hal Robson-Kanu may have performed the most lucrative cruyff turn in history last summer but seemingly Dunks can't be far off in terms of one piece of skill that takes you miles. Ever since he did that at Wembley far too many people think he's a god.

He's immense in the air and has had many good games for us including vs. higher league opposition. You're right he is a liability too often and maybe he should only be 3rd choice at the moment, but he's only just turned 25 & considering the progress he's already made since being with us I don't see why he couldn't become an excellent asset over the next few years.

Most of his headers go straight down the middle of the pitch and get picked up by the opposition. Winning a header is a false economy if you rarely do anything with it or get it away cleanly. It's easy to be blinded by him successfully making first contact, but it's where the ball goes that separates him from better defenders. Sometimes it's actually better NOT to win a header, depending on your awareness and ability to read a situation. Wright was an absolute master of knowing when and how to challenge and when to let someone aimlessly flick it on or bring it down; Dunkley is often like a dog chasing a tennis ball.

Everyone seems to of turned into a football genious! Quite comical. Opinions are a wonderful thing! Suppose we better go out a buy a "top quality" centre half in the summer to get us out this division. Time will tell! I did actually forget about his threat in the opposing box too... but might be wrong on that one.

I think Dunkly and skarz will be shipped out in the close season. I didn't watch any game today, but I did listen to one. I relied on Rad Ox, who in commentary were unclear until MAPP had his post match interview. I can't help but wonder if MAPP is testing Dunkley by playing him in a position that he knows he doesn't like
