Noticed on the Tunnel Cam video done by Boro a face that I didn't recognise with club jacket initialled 'CC' - a quick look on the official website shows it as Crawford Chalmers who is the Head of Football Operations. It was Jonty Castle previously, there was an interesting interview with him done by LionTrust. And he seemed very key in organising the Austria tour. I don't remember seeing anything about him leaving or Crawford Chalmers joining? We have an impressive array of roles behind the scenes that us as fans rarely hear about or maybe appreciate what they do. Would be good to perhaps get an interview in the programme/on the website or a video interview. The one with Dan Bond last year was very interesting. Mark Thomas - the recruitment & analysis chap, and Craig Dean - Head scout are two people I wouldn't be able to pick out if they were stood next to me but there work is definitely paying off on the pitch. Interestingly, having done a bit of digging on Chalmers & Castle, two very very different routes in their careers prior to joining OUFC. Chalmers seems to have been on a course around Sport Directorship at Manchester Met uni alongside MApp and Jonty Castle and is actually the world's first accredited sports director. It appears Chalmers joined this season in October whilst Castle still lists himself as employed by the club on his linkedin profile but doesn't appear to be any part of the club any more. / /

What a couple of cracking names, might steal them for the raunchy novel I'm writing based on a programme seller and her attempts to sleep her way the top of a football club. Set in present day dystopian Didcot.

Set in present day dystopian Didcot. I would see Crawford Chalmers as either a stand in 007, or as a specialist retailer in the West End, something like an umbrella shops, or gentlemen's outfitters. Could you work either of thos knto the storyline?

The FC Business magazine had an interesting interview with Crawford Chalmers in the January issue, but due to some research when heard of the appointment i found that Crawford is also the Chairman of Welsh Football league division 2 side Newport City FC.

Seems like the same person, not just two people with the same name.

A bit of Googling shows that it is the same guy. He sounds like an "interesting" one.

There was an article in one of the recent home programmes with Chalmers. Worth a read...

I noticed in yesterday's programme that he has been removed from staff directory?
Was also in headington bar yesterday and normally see him around with the players but no where to be seen?
I know he was in team photo but also was a top mate of Mapps so assuming he has either left or posistion redundant?

He is still listed on the club website, maybe there's no plot.

He is still listed on the club website, maybe there's no plot. I must note I have noticed the club has been a bit lack in updating website Mark Ashton was listed as CEO for two months after he left. My assumption is he's gone as the programmes are printed more often.
