Wot? No match day thread yet?
My last one didn't go well but at least we gave a good account of ourselves. Hoping for better luck today.
The Valley hasn't often been a happy hunting ground for us so anything from this one will be a bonus. I was there for the two cup matches a few years ago where we lost 4-0 (full debut for COD that day) and drew 2-2. Both games were in front of sparse crowds so it should be very different tonight.

Difficult one to suss out this one. Any hangover from the Cup match? Which side will turn up, the Newcastle one or the Southend one? Do Charlton play football or are they like the Neanderthal knuckled draggers of Wimbledon. All relevant points.

Just about to set off for this one. Looking forward to it, and hopefully Mapps has them well drilled. I predict a score draw 1-1 Johnson for us.

I never predict the other team winning but I'm close today. Can't help thinking we might not be at the races. But ultimately, despite the performance on Saturday we lost, that means we've lost two on the trot. So come on lads be up for this one and bounce back with a win. In terms of importance to our season, with the games in hand, our league position...its huge!
Charlton 0 1 Oxford (johnson)
P.s. MAPP. Put skarz in at LB please and let marvin do his thing up top. Robbie on the right and Maguire in behind either Martin or hemmings

Quite a good idea having a review like that although I don't know where they are getting 76 miles from!

Quite a good idea having a review like that although I don't know where they are getting 76 miles from! Looks like Google maps by car via the North Circular From Grenoble road I would guess about 65 miles, but anyhow I did like the idea of the match review although I am not sure who would put that together every week at the club! Really not confident about tonight but fingers crossed.

I think 2night will be
Edwards Nels raglan skarz
Mags lego rothwell Johno Hemmings Martinez
Raglan and Martinez (if fit) playing as they can't play in the in the chesterfield and jpt games respectively. Giving some others a rest, rothwell may replace one of the midfield but I wouldn't swap both

Charlton Heston 1 Oxford United 1 (Hemmings) Att: 7878 and 403 Yellows fans. We will definitely be under the cosh, here. Do things come in threes? Packets of three, yes; Tony Blair wins? Hmmm. Stands at our ground....oh. Wishes granted by a f*cking genie?...of course. Somes....if you're lucky. Defeats in a row? Don't be bloody daft! I can see a broken leg and a bloody dog on the pitch, but that's all for tonight.

Not bad that, Johno further forward. Hemmings must be wondering what he's got to do to get a start though

I trust in Mapp to get the boys motivated and primed for tonight, would be too 'easy' to put in a below par performance after Saturday - too good a manager to let that happen.
Probably rest 2/3 bring in some fresh legs and minds, tweak the formation and go again.
Charlton 2 OUFC 3. Once again another 5 goal thriller, this time we just shade it.

The team is about right. It will have to be rotated at some point and after Saturday, I think some players need a break

Feel sorry for raglan. He won't be able to play the next two so thought he would get a start. But if Nelson and dunkley are fresh and ready then so be it.

Today's game is very the day after the Lord Mayors parade.
I don't have a massive issue with the strikers because it's what MAPP wanted. So far, neither have done the whole I don't want to be here don't want to get involved that some loanees have done

Bit harsh on Hall to be dropped but I guess after the injury he had it was inevitable he'd need a rest at some point.
Maguire has been up and down so hopefully a rest will revitalise him.
Interesting to see Martinez start over Hemmings again, he has seemed to come straight in and be number 1 pick despite the latter scoring a lot of goals for us this season... I wonder if West Ham had some deal where they would pay his wages and didn't ask for any fee but it was understood that he'd be starting most games?

Hall has started 21/23 games since returning from injury, maguire has played every league game. Both can probably do with a rest. Not surprised Martinez is in there, he holds it up well as well as his goal threat, bit more surprised about mcAleny Getting the nod over hemmings, but he will probably get sat and Luton
