I think I would give maguire a game on the bench, a rest as well as just a little nudge to get him firing again. Agree. Plenty of options to do that. Skarz in and Johnson left wing with Hall behind a striker. Or Hemmings in to play up front with Martinez

The booking of Ledson by referee Kettle was utterly ridiculous wasn't it.
Ledson, after sustaining a blow after a midfield clash, implored the ref to allow him to carry on - not needing to receive treatment. The referee beckoned on physio Procs who stayed on the touch line pointing that Ledson was back on his feet and was fine.
Kettle then bollocked Procs for not entering the field of play when instructed and then brandished a yellow card at "Lego" who was incandescent with rage as was Appy who got into a heated argument with the fourth official.
Kettle needs to pack the game in - in my view. Always been a really poor official.
He was bad for both teams today.

Worse than that, when he did go to go on the Lino and 4th wouldn't let him then the ref got even more angry that he wasn't coming on.

Well I think we deserved that, really.
MK didn't seem that interested in actually trying to win it in the second half and they got their just rewards! We were trying to score and ambition won out in the end.
Quite how Trevor Kettle is still a ref, I have no idea. Unfortunately for long periods of the game, neither did he. It was like watching a random decision generator. It was lucky that his failure to punish players for fouls early in the game didn't lead to someone getting seriously injured later on.
For long periods though, I thought it was a terrible game to watch and that applies to both teams. Aimless head tennis, long punts forward, poor passing. And I think that both teams gave each other too much respect initially.
The MK goalkeeper was a disgrace, rolling around clutching his head when he had just been touched on the arm. I'm glad he and the other two who were diving about were on the losing side.
Not one that will live long in the memory, but sometimes you just have to win those sorts of matches - and we did. The result makes Tuesday's match very interesting indeed!

On 35 minutes we were like a highlights clip of Socceram's showboats clips. Flick-ons, turns, passes, was the best minute of football we've played in the last ten years at least.

I enjoyed the game on a pitch that is deteriorating rapidly game by game.
I thought Oxford were the dominant team overall against an MKD team that sat in for long periods. They looked decent for around 15 minutes - big Chuks Aneke looked a handful and Baldock promised something going forwards first half but United always looked like the team with more quality as the game entered the final 20 mins. I was confident the longer the game wore on we would produce something - great cross from Hally!
The win was deserved - no doubt about it.
Our central defenders are playing well, Lego was looking good before his mysterious booking and then had to pull back a bit and there is class up front with Hall and Maguire. I like the look of Martinez too - going to be a top player. Got a lot of attributes and quality.
The worst aspect today was the referee who barely moved out of the centre circle for long periods and made some terrible decisions. He's as bad as there is.

What was he moaning about after the goal ? Ref even had to go over and shut him up, and he still carried on with the 4th after. Didn't see anything wrong that he could have to be p*ssed off with? After years with wilder that game is further proof of the dangers if you go out to play for a draw

Hardly heard the Dons, fair play though they brought a good few, but then, we are only an hour away! Their goalie is a disgrace, so pleased he was on the end of a defeat.

Just seen on their forum they're moaning at our players for falling over... Pot, kettle etc Even though a few times when we were on the attack they always had a player go to ground? And their keeper who made a meal of that one on one? Idiots, they should stick to concrete cows.

Big win! Referee was bizarre in decision making for both teams and tried his best to stop any free flowing football happening. I thought mk were a good team and reminded me of ourselves earlier on in the season. That extra bit quality and confidence running through our team made the difference. We are not perfect by any means but getting stronger and stronger. Delighted Hemmings scored and I believe that was his 14th of the season which is a excellent return. There was some spells where we played beautiful football and it was a pleasure to watch. I think one massive improvement from the beginning of the season is the players physical presence on the pitch. We are no longer push overs. COYY On RadOx, a couple of George Baldock's comments were passed on with the one that sticks out being Oxford's physicality. It was explained as we played at a high rate for 90 minutes and kept our concentration throughout which MK Dons struggled to live with. The Sports Science/medical staff deserve a lot of praise.

Great match, we deserved the win and a pity not to make it two. Give MK their dues, I thought they looked very competent in the final third, especially in the first half. Total carp reffing, defintely the worst I've seen this season, loads of diving from MK with nothing done about it, Ledsom getting a yellow for not being injured enough, and then an oscar winning performance from their goaly and again th ref did nothing, but stoped play at every other opertunity. I think it's a bit previous to be talking about playoffs just yet, but given that we've got one or two game in hand over most of the sides above us it's not an impossible dream either.
Whatever, these last few weeks have been a brilliant time to be an Oxford fan and long may it continue.

Our players only dived when theirs started the whole crumple at the knees thing. I'm glad we finally have caught onto the fall over and Refs give it lark. The 11 had a lovely fall and Aneke managed to fall over when hit by thin air.
The Ledson booking was a disgrace. But it was the quickest Kettle had moved all game when he got angry - maybe that's the key to getting him moving. Ledson I assume was booked because the physio couldn't be. Considering Marv was dumped on the ground late more than once, and only one booking was meted out, says a lot really.

Martinez also did a nice job when getting little from the Ref. He was a constant pest to their centre backs and made life uncomfortable all game.

After years with wilder that game is further proof of the dangers if you go out to play for a draw I think it's because he played advantage for the foul on Hall but then brought it back when halls cross was cleared. I was surprised too as it unusual for the referee to pull it back in that situation.

Well I couldn't be there today, follow text or read the forum in real time. Just read back all the posts and it seems like another great team performance. We are on a terrific run, very proud of the yellows. I must say that MAPP's tactics impress me more and more every game. He also has the skill to change it when it's not quite firing. COYY.

Chatting to a couple of MK fans in the queue at the chippy before the game, they told me that Rob Hall was well liked whilst there, but wouldn't be getting a good reception from their fans. Apparently MK had stood by him through his injury, but he'd left of his own accord when back to fitness. The irony of MK fans complaining that they'd been the victim of bad footballing ethics only struck me as I was nearing the turnstiles.

If they're willing to demote themselves to something like the eighth tier for next season and earn their Football League status like every other club, I might be sympathetic to their moaning. As it stands however, f*ck em.

I could hear them quite often, and that shouldn't happen. "Sing when you're winning, …". Can't put my finger on why though.
