Those stats are notoriously unreliable.
Players need to be more prepared to take on a first time shot from in or around the 18 yard line. Look how many goals Roofe scored from there, that's what we're missing.

Those stats are notoriously unreliable. I'm not claiming those stats are 100% accurate, but unless they are all entirely made up for every game they are certainly indicative.

The volume of our attempts, as many have pointed out, is decent.
The problem is the locations that we are shooting from.

John Lundstram shoots plenty (I think they are shots), and nearly every time they float out harmlessly high and wide. He is starting to remind me of Roberto Carlos after he got lucky with that free kick he scored for Brazil and tried to repeat it for years after, getting no where near. Wouldnt mind him just keeping the ball now, he has surely proved to the shoot brigade that he can't (accurately).

Lets just shoot from the half way line, from kick off then....Maguire did it once so it will certainly happen again

If he could just pick out a face behind the goal and think 'I'll pass it to him', I'm sure he would have more success.

Having read around some of this shooting stuff just out of interest...a shot outside the 18 yard box carries a 5-10% chance of ending up a goal. The closer and more central you are to the goal, the more likely you are to score (seems to be the general gist). Considering that, the shot locations of our last 3 matches (Northampton, Walsall, Gillingham) So theres that.

Presumably of the same ilk who voice their displeasure at our short corners which often result in good chances.

Or John Gregory. He used to fine the players at Wycombe for shooting from outside of the box.
