Thought I should... Oldham struggling so will battle hard, I'm going for a sticky 2-1 to the mighty Yellows after getting caught cold early to go 1 down. Maggie to score both.

Bimey, Friday already?!! A should win match, only if our attitude and desire are to the fore. With many games looming the squad will be rotated more than a launderette with extended opening hours! I'm personally making a big effort getting to this one, so hoping the lads don't disappoint. Optimistic U's 3 Latics 1.

If we play to our potential we could be in a very good position come the start of January. We badly need to play far better against the bottom sides though.

Santa hat and Christmas pully all ready to go! Expecting to go home full of Christmas cheer after a thrilling 3-0 to our boys! Ryan Taylor to score one after coming on as a sub. Mags and Hemmings the others.

Big game for us. If we win this then it puts us in a great position to collect some points over the Christmas period and end up in a fantastic position in the new year.
Going for a nervy 2-1. Hemmings with the first and a late Rob Hall winner.

Given my recent predictions and our great form I am pretty much obliged to go for my standard 3-0 to the U's to try and maintain the run. Maguire, Hemmings and Hall to score and some sort of dog related incident obviously.
More importantly I will be taking the lucky gloves so am feeling pretty confident about this one. A win would set us up really well and if we go into January nipping at the heels of the play offs it should make transfer dealings a lot easier.
Actually being able to see the game on the far side of the pitch might be nice too.

2-1 to us, a last minute winner from the ginger goal machine Taylor to add to Hemmings early tap in, those either side of a 35 yard screamer from some northener which will be their only shot of the game as we dominate possession but struggle to score.

I had the pleasure of a works do' in one of the "executive boxes" behind one of the goals on Monday as Lincoln city took on Oldham Athletic in the FA Cup.
Although Lincoln City are at the top of the Vanarama league (or 2nd now), they seem to be grinding out results rather than playing attractive football, this was very much a game where the league side did not take the game seriously against a non league side and paid the price, (Friday at Macclesfield springs to mind),
Oldham Athletic were a poor side, they could not string two passes together, long balls were being put into touch (including goal kicks), the tracking back was non existent and when there back four did decide to play they were caught in possession, two goals in the 1st half followed by the 3rd just after half time put the result beyond doubt and only tiredness from the home side gave Oldham a sniff with 2 late goals to give their 411 travelling supporters hope, the final score of 3-2 gave an unjust ring to it.
Any OUFC official in attendance that night would have reported back something like this - if we play to a high tempo on Saturday against Oldham, get the ball in the box, put the keeper under pressure, use the ball well and maintain our beliefs for the whole 90 minutes then the 3 points should be within reach, however go into the game without the right attitude then be warned.
OXFORD UNITED - 3 (Magure 2, Dunkley, Oldham Athletic - 0 Att - 7696 (428 visitors)

Given that Oldham had one more day to recover from their last game, AND they will be really up for it after that result at Lincoln, my bet is they will win 2-1. It will be a very small crowd - just under 6,000.

You're right to pull me up on that, Mr Utd. I should have said 'full business apparel'; I should have said in a Kingsman Navy Double-Breasted Pinstriped Wool and Cashmere-Blend Suit.

I've had a really good polish of the lucky glass ball over this one. I can foresee: Oxford United 2 (MacDonald and Maguire) Oldham Athletic 1. Att: 5,355 and 309 away fans. This game has the hallmarks of a 'classic' written all over it, but its the weirdness happening outside of the game that grabs me by the whatsits. Dunkley and Skarz will enter the arena leapfrogging over each other, apparently for a bet. Dunkley will accidentally 'lay the nut on Joe' during this frivolity and knock him senseless for a few seconds. Because its the festive season, MacDonald will bring a bunch of mistletoe out with him....and Skarzy (still a bit doolally) will plant a juicy big kiss on his unsuspecting lips. Skarz will be the first player ever, to be booked (before a game), for inciting rudeness. Eastwood's tattoo on his arm with 'make my day' on it, will have mysteriously disappeared. Turns out, it was only a 'henna' based one. For some reason, the scoreboard will have: 'Its 1999 - only 22 days till the next Millennium!' flashing across the screen. Then it will self-destruct and explode. Boris Johnson, freshly sacked after his recent comments about the Saudis, will be at the game and offer to relay the score through a loud speaker every five minutes, but be turned down politely by United, because they don't want to lower the tone of the place. Dunkley will head the ball away for a corner and it will fly up in the air so much, it will get stuck in one of the floodlights. Nelson will climb up to retrieve the ball - fall down - and fracture his coccyx. Six weeks out. Martin will laugh so much, he will have a hernia - six more bloody weeks out. The referee (Mr J. Corbyn - no relation) will forget his whistle and, because no-one has a spare one, will flash his laser-gun-torch-thingy, every time the game has to be stopped for free-kicks, etc. Two planes will crash into Blackbird Leys, as a result. One of the pilots will have an injured clavicle. Part of the half-time entertainment will be: 'Bang the barn door with a banjo and win a contract with Oxford United!'. Every f*cker will miss. After 67 minutes, a dog will run onto the pitch and have a banging good old shit. That just about does it for me.
