I find the A12 surprising old-fashioned, and you do pass Dedham, the birthplace of James Constable; so yes, Baz, it's like tunnelling into the past. Essex is not, however a pleasant county by my estimation.

We chatted about Aldeburgh and Southwold at lunch, also Orford, which is now a nature sanctuary of course. Suffolk is preferably to Essex, though not by so much.

I've been to Ipswich today and came back. I can't say it was very exciting. Sounds like the sort of place where you could still buy pickled eggs? Not mow that they have modernised the canteen. I had chicken and veg with sweet chili sauce, The overriding impression was sweetness. Would anyone like a pickled onion? There is a large jar.

Ipswich. Strange place. What Charlie might refer to as 'monstrous carbuncle'. Rough hole in what is, by and large, a lovely county. Although Felixstowe bit industrial too. Just my opinion though. My challenge to ST is to Google several hundred facts to refute this.
EDIT - I'll have a pickled egg please.

Two very strong line ups for both sides. Obviously the managers are taking it seriously, even if the fans ain't.

Anyway, the other day I asked a server in there where the pickled eggs were kept, and he started banging on about post-industrial media-inspired capitalist conspiracies. I'm sure it was him.

Well I'm listening. Because I'm interested in how some of our squad perform, rather than the actual result.
