Thomas missed against Swindon as well as twice tonight. He's even garbage in glorified reserve games Still, glad to see Chelsea's international footballers benefitted from the run out. That's what this was all about after all!

I prefer the tea cakes to the wafers. To think they sell 5000000 a week is astonishing.

A pointlessly long penalty shoot out in a pointless trophy. Only the EFL could contrive that.

Lundstram (2), Thomas (2), Martin all missed.

We were dominant in first half, useless in second half. We seemed to treat it like a training game. The centre backs were good.
Hemmings has got to play as he is the only forward who has any idea in front of goal.
Chelsea would have been there for the taking had it not been for Zouma, who is a colossus.
I don't think Thomas should be trusted with penalty duties. To put it mildly.
Anyway I am sure everyone is delighted we've qualified for the next stage😳😳😳

Score 12 penalties and still lose the shoot out? Well that just takes the biscuit, but I suppose sometimes that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Why are we playing a full strength team.in a youth team fixture? Was it some sort of mick brown fax machine-esque administrative cock up?

Oh come on folks, it was an evenings entertainment where we got a run out and also saw some Chelski youngsters with loads of potential. We could do worse than giving some of them loan spells.

So, we're still crap at penalties then? Don't worry, Maguire and Hemmings take good ones. I'd keep Lunny and Thomas as far away from them as is possible though.

For the next home game Thomas and Lunny need to stay on the pitch and get Rosie to take them thru the half-time penalty shootout

Lunny has really struggled this season with the step up. Maybe with Ledson along side it will give him a second or two more to compose himself but he constantly looks rushed and has already given the ball away more than i remember for most of last season. I'm sure it's not the only reason but is the captaincy weighing a little heavy too?

So we won one, drew twice and lost twice from 3 games and somehow qualify for the next stage which maybe even more complex?
Who came up with the format? A 3 year old?

Wes - well a striker missing the goal from 12 yards!!
