I sense there might be a touch of irony and sarcasm about that Swindon post.
If not - lol.

I sense there might be a touch of irony and sarcasm about that Swindon post. If not - lol. I f*cking hope so. A 3.1 penalty shootout win after a 0.0 draw against ten men in a cup being boycotted by the majority of fans over the country. I'm glad you haven't beaten us don't get me wrong but f*ck me, that tweet. Hope you have all enjoyed your evening doing whatever else it is you chose to do gents, I hope it was better than my evening sat with the misses watching Eastenders.

To be fair the comments underneath are mostly their fans telling them to shut the f*ck up and delete them.

7 in a row wasn't to be but the Scum can have their 1 in a row and hope they make the most of it as it wont be 2 in a row What the feck are you on about, it's a reserve team fixture that doesn't count towards senior appearances. Secondly, it was a draw. Precisely, it was a draw. a) the bookies aren't paying out on a Slum win. b) the "league table" gave us a point each c) Swindling had no goal-scorers, ergo can't have won d) why did we go to a tie-breaker if there was a winner? That's a goalless draw on any planet. Additionally, not that I was entirely gripped, but...did anyone else have YP cut out immediately on full-time, before pens? I would have been ropable if it happened in an important FA Cup tie.

The ironic thing is they way they've acted both in and out of the game will make MAPPs team talk in February a lot easier. So stupid

From the official site:
'Oxford United made it eight games unbeaten against their nearest rivals with a 0-0 draw at the County Ground in the Checkatrade Trophy. Alternatively, they lost on penalties if you prefer!'

It is quite telling that on the BBC website, tonight's results for this competition come below those for the conference and the third qualifying round of the FA Cup. Mind you it comes above the Ferrari Packaging Lowland League, so that's alright then.

Just got in from choir practice. Thought I'd just check the Checkatrade results on the BBC's Leagues & Competitions page: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/leagues-competitions...oh right, they're obviously boycotting it too. Quality thread, chaps. I had to explain to my (non-football-following) missus why tonight's thread was all about what people are having for their tea. She thinks you're all mad.

How did Martin and Crowley play? Martin especially as hasnt played for some time. The defense must have been good to shut out the scum for 90 minutes and away.

I thought Martin played well as did Long. Crowley is a very talented boy and did some fantastic things - great control, turning and running at people and he and Rothwell linked up well. Rothwell running from deep with ball at his feet looks a top player. It was a very good performance and make no mistake Oxford cut Swindon open three or four times and should have won the game. Eastwood did have saves to make and he had a superb game. I am confident we are going to have an exciting season.

Since they are classing anything but a defeat as a win, if we draw in Feb then does that count as 7 1st team wins in a row?
I've also never known a team to lose a game and still pick up a point. I was always taught that you get points for wins and draws but not defeats.
Still, their players and fans have given us plenty of entertainment. Getting this excited over playing our 2nd string side who had 10 men for over half the game!
