Was a scrappy first half I thought, however second half think McDonald made a difference and put us more on the front foot. Thought Bolton were there for the taking and pleased Appleton went two up front and it made the difference. Bolton were disappointing - but think that was reflective of how solid we were at the back, Eastwood is so assured and must give defence a lot of confidence.

Still got a sore throat in the beehive pub in Bolton, what an amazing performance today by the boys in yellow. We controlled the game but thought MacDonald provided that cutting edge when he came on and Wes was able to add that bit of quality up front. A brilliant atmosphere from the travelling yellows. The Bolton fans couldn't be heard all match. Only minor concern is the form of Johnson and hemmings but I'm sure they will come good in the end. Also which other clubs would have the chairman in the local boozer before and after the match? I am so proud of Darryl and the lads. Was Hemmings not very good then? Came across on the radio and in the live tweets that he was really involved again, and from the footage did very well for the second goal ?

I come on here to moan, so I'll come on here to congratulate too. Didn't experience the game today, despite being just downthe road in Manchester. The stats show a good performance against a Bolton team who seem in a very bad place. Good three points coming just at the right time, I just hope we can stop blowing hot and cold and take advantage of this tight league.
Well done all, especially the fans who made the brief Sky highlights a pleasure to watch!

Hemmings led the line for me and was part of a team performance that on the day I would find it very hard to be critical of anyone. Putting the result to one side some of our football was outstanding and to go a team who have just come down and deny them a shot on goal all game tells you this was top class from keeper to front

Oh dear, many of the Bolton fans are unhappy with their team's performance, as one of them writes:
"How f*cking embarrassing. Losing 2 nil at home to Oxford is an absolute f*cking disgrace. What the f*ck do these bunch of sh*tbags actually do on the training ground? F*ck all by the look of it. We should be absolutely battering teams like this and they can't even create a couple of half decent chances. The usual new manager bounce has disappeared and we are once again left with this pathetic shower of sh*te playing worse than your average f*cking pub team. I'm glad I'm not an actual paying customer anymore because I would go and kick Parkinsons door down and nut the f*cking bellend. I hope Norpig didn't miss with that bottle full of sh*t and p*ss because they deserve everything they f*cking get. Useless f*ckers are stealing a living. You have my apologies Terence, you were right all along. F*ck it, I'm going for a lie down before my head explodes."
Hahaha...

Just back from uup north. What a great day out that was. Started out at the beehive, a really nice pub and only a ten minute walk from the ground. From the outside the macron looked good, but inside it was excellent. More compact than mk and better looking than sheffield. We came out with a solid look about us first half but we created chances in a pretty even 45 minutes. Second half we upped the tempo and they struggled to live with it. Johnson was replaced by macca and we finally clicked, creating several chances with one notable miss from Hemmings that deserved better. You could sense it was coming and the yellow army cranked the noise up at each near miss. Not long after boltons triple substitution, we scored. Macca found space on the right wing and slipped a beautiful ball across the box for wes to pass in. Cue utter jubilation from the U's fans. Awesome!! Bolton fans soon started heading for the exits but not before Chris Maguire had pounced on a parry from their keeper to stroke home no2. The players all celebrated right in front of us and the points were ours. Great to be a part of that today. A really top class performance and great support.

Just got back...
Had to laugh. The irritating 'Wes-detractor' from the SSU was quickly silenced today. And the 'good ole boy ' behind me on the way out after the final whistle who said
"May Ave bin 2-0 but it was two very poor teams playing not much football...very disappointing ". FFS!
Oh! How we laughed?😫

Bolton fans seem to be unable to accept the fact the have dropped to league 1 and think they are too good for league 1. Poor little souls losing a game against little old oxford. Reality is that their club has been in turmoil for years and it was only a matter of time before they dropped right down the leagues.
The players they have should be too good for this league but reality is they are a poorly run club who need a full clear out and start building as a league 1 side.

Did Bolton win something when they were hoofballing it in the premier league? Other than longest throw in and most corrupt manager? Egos on them.
They were shite, two nil flattered them and had we started like we finished it would of been more.
Can see them falling further, also no way did they have 12,000 odd there today, about half that.

I agree that the Macron is compact and no doubt it is a great stadium but it does feel and look like it's 20 years old now (it opened in Aug 1997) and I much prefer stadium:mk stadium:mk is a wonderful area and excellently designed (by Populous)

What a day that was! Easy trip up, Bicester to The Beehive in just over 2 hours. Good to the chairman and directors in amongst the fans.
Credit for Bolton for the ticket pricing and placement of away fans. Right behind the goal on the bottom tier makes for a much better atmosphere. MK take note.
Performance wise, solid if unspectacular in the first half. Thought Macca was too draw when he came on. Good so much time for him so am chuffed he played as well as he did.
Back 4 and Eastwood were brilliant. How many knocks has Skarz taken the last few games! Talk about putting your body on the line for cause!!
Disappointed to see Hemmings getting a bad wrote up. For me he did well against experienced championship/L1 defenders. We've got a player in him, he will be an assist for in time.
The highlights don't really show the technique by Thomas for the goal. A very good finish on his weaker side with the ball pinged across. Easily missable! Great scenes after that went in and I thought the away fans for the second time in a week were outstanding again. Not only in numbers but vocally, too. Must really make a difference the players knowing that we've got their backs.
One final shout for the Lino on the dugout side 2nd half. He was shocking! Reckon he was making it up as he went along as some of his calls were awful!

Can anyone link the video from when Appleton does his after match interview?
Parkinson sounds a broken man in the interview. Comes across as very honest but very downbeat!

Every now and again after an unexpected away win the opposition manager gets sacked shortly afterwards - this could be one of those times!

Drove from London, took just the 5 hours on the trip up 😒. But it was worth it. Yesterday convinced me just how good a manager Appleton is. The tactical changes were brilliant.
Thomas and Macca were like greyhounds released from the traps. Bolton were chewed up and spat out by a second half performance of grit, strength, speed and technique.
I thought after the scum game that we were potential promotion contenders. Call me rose tinted but I think so even more now.
And it's mostly down to a settled defence. Sign Raglan!

I'm chuffed we won and a won well. I used to know Phil P quite well years ago and am sure he will get it right. He will have been very hurt by that performance by Bolton.they would be foolish to get rid of him after what he achieved at Colchester Charlton and Bradford
