I'm I the only one who thinks the half time break needs looking at? Kicking footballs into a bin? Not a hint of benny hill music in the background!
This time would be much better used showcasing skills by the oufc academies team etc...
Just a observation...

The amputee football against Swind** was superb.
With 15 minutes half time, do we really need a lot of half time entertainment? Have a leak see the rest of the scores, chat to some friends and it is the second half ...

We barely have time to drink our tea and eat a biscuit or two in the lounge. Half time entertainment? Oh well, if you must, how about a dancing bear or trick cyclist? What do the proletariat enjoy these days?

I preferred it when halftime only lasted 10 minutes, especially in the winter. I have a beer more for something to do, probably go without if it was only ten minutes.

My point is if your going to do something make it worthwhile, if not don't bother.
The amputee team were amazing and hope we will see them back.
I'm not bothered what the hell they do at half time, it was just an observation.

ummm .... isn't half time is for the kids? Surely rest of us are queuing, chatting and catcing up? It is and my seven year old and his friend and dad attending with us for the 1st time all thought what the hell is this! lol hey ho they really enjoyed the game, which is the main thing!

Last saturdays half time "entertainment" was a joke, ok yes we can have a chat with mates but something half reasonable would be better, the crossbar challenge was ok but non of us in the SSU ever got a go, and as for someone chipping a ball into a wooden box I thought it was hopeless.
Let the kids have 5 mins each way two touch footy, something like that.
Oh and the half time scores on the scoreboard would be good.

Bring back the relays they used to have at the manor. Bibs v yellow. Bibs representing the away team. Get the crowd involved with some simple commentary and you have a simple, yet effective HT entertainment.

Anyone remember at the Manor Rosie used to do a relay race around the pitch before the game with the youth team in home and away team kits. Used to get the crowd cheering them on and Oxford usually won.
Also there was often a toddler in full oxford kit that used run about unsupervised and try and kick a huge size 5 match ball from the half way line into the net

Or get the wannabe "firms" out on the pitch.....like a game of British Bulldog using the halfway line......... could have score cards to hold up !! Could call it "Strictly Pavement Dancing".

What about us old-uns?......personally I would like a marching band with the guy leading them with that long stick thingy.......and when he toses it high in the air, we all used to wait with baited breath to see if he would catch the bloody thing......perhaps oxvox would mention it?

No singers, the sound system is crap in the SSU. No dancers, there is always a big one who gets stick from sections of the ground. No chipping balls into a wheely bin. No crossbar challenge, been there done that got the shirt.
We have media people employed so use there skills and come up with something we can be entertained with not embarrassed by.

I think 15 mins is too long too. 10 mins is plenty long enough to go for a p*ss isn't it?

We have discussed it within OxVox Bob, and none of us are old enough to know what a marching band is, or if they still exist, and one of the committee is slightly traumatised by the image of the man out front doing things with his long stick thingy!!!!

Unfortunately the baton wasn't handed on when we moved to the Kassam.

Amershamdave could make a rousing speech forecasting the joys to come in the second half. Maybe run a sweepstake on what time the dog enters the field of play. Or a life-size model of FK and if you can knock it over with a ball from 20yards you win a round of applause and lots of cheering.

Bingo.
The other great working class sport. Everyone who buys a programme gets a bingo ticket. The numbers are generated at random and popped up onto the new scoreboard at half time. The winner gets some sort of prize.
It would increase the amount of programmes sold, and the crowd would be swelled by a huge influx of old dears with purple rinses.
Win, win.

What did you expect on Saturday? Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of Wildebeast sweeping majestically across the plain? Sydney Opera House? Or perhaps the Thames Valley Majorettes

Half time at Dagenham in the Conference was great. They let us out to use their social club, then back in again for the second half, suitably topped up!

I expect to be able to see the sea Pete Rhodes-Brown with a microphone doing a half-arsed commentary over some youth teamers kicking a ball around/pegging it around the pitch.

I know it's not 1984 but would some birds with big jugs prancing about be too much to ask for.
Let's be honest, if there was bikini mud wrestling at half time I'm sure it would stick another 500 on the gate each week and that's an extra £250,000 over the course of a season.

Get the crowd involved with some simple commentary and you have a simple, yet effective HT entertainment. Definitely, remember it well as you say get kids representing both teams. Whatever entertainment is tried it's always enhanced by including the away fans as that generates a little more interest. Also any entertainment should involve kids only.
