With the sale or roofe and O'dowda netting us 2.5 mill plus would you;
a). Invest a larger sum in bringing in new players to replace these two and push for promotion
b). Invest in cheap replacements and accept a mid table finish and hold on to the cash to help towards the stadium purchase. If the stadium as rumoured has a purchase price of 12 mill, this sum could well make the difference-. ,

C. Pay off some (a very small fraction) of the debt incurred getting out of League Two (several seasons) whilst investing a portion of the money received in building a squad for the future. Oops 50p left to help fund the stadium so let's forget about that option for now and concentrate on realistic ways of funding the stadium purchase (or not).

What's the benefits of stadium purchase apart from not throwing money away on rent?

Buying the stadium could have many benefits including extra revenue and hopefully cash generation to help the club. However, this will only happen if the cost of the purchase is balanced against the level of extra revenue generated. There is also significant risk involved. Eales has already invested many millions in the club and will probably have invest (or spend with little hope of a return) many more million. If the stadium is to be purchased it has to be done at the right price (also allowing for the costs of future development) to provide a return or he is better of paying the rent without the added risk of committing many more millions. He is an expert in balancing risk against reward so will know better than most of us what the right price/deal is.

Well, the Chairman has agreed for Mapp to sign a player for 100k if they meet the club criteria!
