The response of a number (I know a shock there is even that number
) of the Cheltenham fans on their forum is amusing. To summarise:
They were never offside (both linesmen were always wrong and bias for us apparently
) and their disallowed goal should of stood as he was supposedly onside (it must be so as the Cheltenham fan doing the radio commentary said so and some Cheltenham fans in the North Stand claim it was so!).
Our goal shouldn't have stood as Batt fouled their player supposedly but of course their player wasn't grabbing Batty's shirt at all (TV replay confirms Batty's shirt being pulled) or alternative theory, Craddock was offside.
They were spot on about Clarkey coming off his line too early for the penalty (Well done Ref/Lino
) but I would like to see the decision causing the penalty as wasn't on Skysports news. Assuming Tonks remembers correctly reckons he got the ball 1st but admits poor challenge considering the position they were in (RadOx).
They should have beaten us easily according to some of them because they got the penalty and the disallowed goal should have been given (
). They ignore the part their keeper played with some good saves mind which is very harsh on him. Fortunately, some Cheltenham fans gave a balance view of the game and that both teams were attacking in it.
So nice to see football fans, club to club, are consistent as ever ;D! Now can somebody explain why our disallowed goal wasn't given when it was a perfectly reasonable challenge off the ball on the keeper?
;D
