we need a win big time! Not sure if we'll get one as we seem to blow hot and cold at the minute. Also with 3 key players missing I think we'll struggle I'm sad to say. Gap down to 1 point by the end of the day and a game in hand for the teams below us. I wish I felt more positive about our predicament but I'm not sure which team will turn up? The one that creates loads of chances, moves the ball quick, works hard and wins games or the 1 or 2 shots on target, slow, cumbersome relegation fodder. Please please please do the business today lads... COYY!
Edit: I'm not sure I can even manage to listen to it on radio Oxford. It feels like watching us take a pen... Best look away and wait for the crowd.

Got a very, very bad feeling about this game. Going to hide in the garden shed until it's all over. Oi, it's my job to say I have bad feelings about games! I'm going into this game with more hope than expectation. Fingers crossed.

A lot of negativity on here today! Cambridge did get a seeing to Friday so will be low on confidence.
It is a must win for us today though. But that depends on others, which we need to stop focusing on Rovers/Plymouth etc

Not must win but would be a big dent in our automatic promotion push!

We need the equivalent of 7 results over at least two of Plymouth, Bristol & Stanley to secure an auto place - with a result being either a win for us; a defeat for them; or a draw for both sides. then 5 over Pompey and 4 over Wycombe, Orient and the others to secure a playoff spot.
So it is in our own hands, but it would be very nice of the others to help us out a bit

Hi all . Very nervous about today. A point today normally would be a good result but I feel we need all three. However as normal win or lose up the U's

Slocombe, Long, Ashby, Waring, Giles, Jeacock, Hylton. Three strikers on the bench? Hylton with the winner...his sort of game!

Slocombe, Long, Ashby, Waring, Giles, Jeacock, Hylton. JEacock - another new name from the youth team (hurrah) - though does show how light we are at the moment.....

Jeacock has been doing well for the youth team, so its good to see him rewarded with a place on the bench.

Jeacock has been doing well for the youth team, so its good to see him rewarded with a place on the bench. Absolutely, and next in line while Roberts on loan, George on international duty and Hawtin and Humphries departing for Scandinavia. Do wonder whether another defender might have been useful, but with Cundy at Gloucester, then I guess it would have beeen out newly signed up Carroll.

I usually can't forsee a win but I do this time. 2-1. Maybe i'm optimistic because I don't even want to imagine how p*ssed off i'll be if we don't get a win, and throw down our automatic place when the finish line is in sight.
It would be the greatest and most typical Oxford United slip up of modern times.

Has there been a single game in which I've not been nervous? So this one is no different. Has there been a single game in which I've not been optimistic? Nope! So a scintillating victory will surely follow.

Afternoon all. No negative stuff from me today. Our away record speaks for itself, regardless of who is picked to play, we have the squad to keep us in the automatic slot, so COME ON YOU YELLOWS.

I think we have enough in the team to not have to risk a young defender. Ruffels and Sercombe can play fullback at a pinch, and the same for MacDonald.

Actually, I think you are right about Carroll being away too. Still, does show how close to the bare bones we are this weekend, with only COD at U21 level or higher
