I know its all a desperate pipe dream but could a consortium of wealthy U's fans not get together and buy the ground. Outwith of OUFC and then lease it back the club with a lower rent, so over the next few years we pay back what's owed.
And at some stage the ground would be ours and in the short term its owned by those with the best interests of OUFC.

The problem is that the cancer that is FK has to be excised in its entirety in order for the club to control its own destiny.
The WHOLE area that includes the ground, car parks, hotels, priory and o zone buildings will need to be purchased to get rid of the OGB forever.
The revenue streams from these acquisitions will fund the fourth stand and corners fill ins.
Price a cool £50m, any takers?

Ground was about 13 million or may be nearer 15 million, the ownership of the bowling alley and hotel etc has no relevance to OUFC!

The co founder of lastminute.com is from Oxford, must be loaded! If it's Martha Lane Fux you're on about, she's left all her money to the Pitt-Kethley museum. Don't ask me how I know this but it's safe as milk. She's going to drop-out, boogie and lick my decals off while wearing a troutmask replica. On my life, may weasels rip my flesh.

The biggest concern with whoever buys the ground is that it will still not be owned by the club. No-one in their right mind is going to buy it i.e. Eales, Donald are not going to just transfer the ownership to OUFC meaning the future of the stadium will always be hit and miss.

Not if its brought and put into some sort of trust/ oxvox what ever. That hold it for the good of the club.

That's a pretty big if though Not really, if it's fans putting their money to get the ground back for the good of the club, then surely that's exactly what it would be doing rather than giving it to the chairman. Don't get me wrong eales is the best chairman we have had in ages. But it would prevent the club and stadium ever being parted again, if he ever decided to sell.
