Thought I would start this one off, as I have only done one this season, and we drew on opening day against Crawley. So here's hoping things will be better this time around.
I can't make it to the game tonight due to work commitments, but will be listening on Rad Ox hoping we secure three points. It's got the feeling of it being a must win game, because we are so close to the end of the season, and the gap closing from 4th place. So a nice bit of pressure applied by us tonight will do very nicely. We seem to bounce back quite well after a defeat or two, and looking at our fixtures they seem quite favourable compared to the chasing clubs ie Plymouth/Portsmouth/Accrington. I don't expect Dag & Red to rollover and gift us 3 points like York did, instead I expect to see a hardworking team fighting for there lives attitude. So we will have to earn it tonight. A defeat here is unthinkable really. We simply have to win, and I actually think we will.
Hoping we can brake them down early, and the lads can settle and control the game, and put in a professional performance.
Prediction OUFC 3-1 Dag & Red Roofe Bowery Sercombe

The important thing tonight is not to panic if we do not go ahead early. A ground out 1-0 will be just as good as a 5-0 rout , so for me everyone (players and supporters alike) just needs to be patient and not get on each others backs if it doesn't go to plan early on. Similar to Leicester Newcastle last night, or when they played Norwich the other week and scored in the last few minutes, ALL we need is the three points. Yes, score early and D&R may fold, score loads and the goal diff column will get another boost, etc, etc, but we jsut need to keep our composure if that doesn't happen, because at this stage - a win is a win and that is all we need!
So, sayign that, I'll go 4-2

Doing a night shift so not there tonight but if we treat it in the same way as the York game, and in spite of our dodgy home form and the fact that we always find it difficult for some reason against them I cannot see anything other than a home win. About time Sercombe rediscovered his scoring boots and will feel a whole lot better if COD and MacDonald start from the off with Hylton and Roofe. Will be able to listen to Radox for only the second time as am driving through Oxfordshire for part of my run so looking forward to anticipating Nick Harris getting slightly excited now and then.

Massive game tonight. Win and it will set us up for a run of games against lower end league opposition. Lose and it would suggest our poor home form will cost us.
Was the failure to force a single save from open play on Saturday down to a good defensive team or a slow cumbersome attack?
We will see... I hope we win 5-0 :-)

There's no easy fixtures and they were a much tougher prospect than I thought they were going to be when we won at theirs in the league - especially just a week or so after looking like complete dross in the JPT.
That said, they're bottom of the league for a reason and anything but a win will be a big big disappointment for us. Going for a 2-0 win, few nerves when it takes us a while to score, but overall a comfortable game (touch wood).

I've a feeling that the home form wobble will still be apparent and we struggle to 1-1 against a team fighting for their league status. Don't worry though, my predictions are usually wrong

No show from 'daggers' chap, happy for that to continue - and if he makes an appearance on here later it would only be to gloat. Can't predict this with any confidence, I'm just hoping that the players show a lot of grit and determination - from kick off to the final whistle. That's a very basic requirement, I believe we have some very talented players for this level, and I wouldn't swap too many with our rivals, so let's hope they prove themselves and live up to our expectations.

3-1 Oxford
I don't understand how people can go to the game tonight, my heart wouldn't be able to cope. Must win if we want autos. A point won't do, it's time to snap out of this home form now otherwise a blip becomes a catastrophe.

O'Dowda must start and must hog the touchline. McDonald, too. Appleton's problem at home is a horribly congested midfield because Maguire and Roofe are obsessed with cutting inside. Unfortunately Appleton is guilty of picking the best players rather than the best XI. Bowery, Hylton, Maguire and Roofe can't play in the same XI at home. We have to stretch teams with pace and trickery put wide. Not actually sure whether that is mecca's game which is why we need a winger on that side. Surprised after Ismail went back that we didn't delve back into the market. If Appleton doesn't learn it will be a draw

Isn't Dagger someone on a wind-up? Take your pick from Brownlie, Moobs, Baldy, Danny C... I'm still waiting for Junior to let us in on the secret. Anyway, here's hoping D&R show their home form and we show our away form tonight.

Think that tonight is a night for O'Dowda over Maguire.
Think that when O'Dowda was given a run of starts we began to see what he is capable of. Very direct (epitomized against York) and confident going forward. Just think that (obviously besides both Notts County games) he struggles to impose himself from the subs bench and usually fails to get up to speed with the game. Think MacDonald was surprisingly poor as well on Sat. Would like to see O'Dowda and Roofe start either side of Hylts and Bowery. Key tonight is going to be the first goal. Think we may have to wait until the second half but think we'll be okay. 2-0.

Must win. After this game, we really are at the business end of the season as we'll only have nine more league games to ensure that our name is taking up either the second or third spot. Having sat here for so long and seeing us play so well at times, I'm desperate for us to see it through.
Any sort of win tonight, please. A brutal annihilation of a team that are 40 points behind us or a narrow, last minute own goal victory. Anything that ensures three points is all we need tonight. No complacency - the job is only done when the final whistle goes.
If it was away, I wouldn't be nervous at all!

You would hope that Olly the Ox would assume control were this to happen tonight. Possibly wrestle it to the ground in a headlock and escort the animal to that field next to the leys.

And back to mediocrity when we had the slower players starting. Tonight's starting line up will be interesting...

I predict that Amersham Dave will run on to the pitch carrying a dog wrapped in an Oxhead flag, he will swap punches with Jamie Cureton on the Daggers bench and release the dog which will bite both Faz and Still while the flag wraps round the scoreboard and prevents us from seeing the score which will be 0-0 until the last thirty seconds when Hylton will earn a penalty, miss the spot kick and put in the rebound for a 1-0. By which time all of us pensioners attending will have had heart attacks and a fleet of ambulances will be heading for the JR. In other words a normal Tuesday Evening at the Kassam. Farcical prediction. The scoreboard's been broken for ages...

Buchel Kenny Dunks Mullins Skarz MacDonald Lundstram Sercombe COD Hylton Roofe Thoughts on that line up? Think it would be harsh to drop Bowery after his last few weeks. Think his pace will always cause problems. Can see where his critics are coming from though. Think when we play poorly he does stand out as looking uninterested or lazy. In any case, you have to give him credit, he's been the one player in recent weeks to create a chance from nothing.
