if songs were scored after a goal I would recommend personalising it.
Roofe- The roofe is on fire. Lundstram - Ferry cross the Mersey. Wright - Dreams can come true
etc etc

Not really bothered though I think there are better, running out to Into The Valley and playing Bringing On Back The Good Times after a win would be my choice, Sweet Caroline is perfect for a Karaoke night but is not exactly a song I would put into the category of celebration.

Delilah worked..for...was it Stoke?

A comfortable victory for 'yes' then, after a while I think they'll get the timing better and it'll end up becoming synonymous with us.

Watching MOTD it seems like Norwich get the darts song after their goals. Thank God we don't have to go through that.

I remember that first conference game against barrow when each goalscorer had his own goal music and they had three different scorers. Getting the train to Morecambe brought back bad memories of 'the armpit of England' which was Barrow

The idea of having a song is for people to be able to sing it, not just go nah nah nah
Makes me cringe with embarrassment!

The idea of having a song is for people to be able to sing it, not just go nah nah nah Makes me cringe with embarrassment! I'm with u , Caroline ain't no Irene. Adopted from a good night in a bar, where any song can sound good drunk. For me just doesn't work on the terraces, to long slow verses.

Does not have to have any connection to the club, can just be a quirky tune with a chorus that everyone can sing!

I think Sweet Caroline works ok at the end of a game as long as it is not played too soon. Last night was better.
However, I can't see it being sung spontaneously during a game like Deliah and Irene are. Paul Cannell's suggestion earlier this season of Concrete and Clay is well worth considering. With a bit of tweaking you could get:
"The conrete and the clay, beneath my feet, begin to crumble. Our love will never die.
And we'll turn The Skip to rubble, before we say goodbye.
OUFC will be, in my blood eternally. Yellow and blue, that's the way it's got to be"
Easy to start, easy to pick up, repeatable and relevant. Works pre, during and post match and probably in the pub too although that needs thorough testing of course.

Tenpole tudor with swords of a thousand men, imagine that? Be great! It does have the advantage that the original version already sounds like it's being sung by a load of drunk blokes. it's catchy and easy to yell. And the lyrics are somewhat transferable. I like it!

The chorus could go -
Hoo-rah, Hoo-rah, Hoo-rah hey, up the leagues went Appleton and his men.
The Hoo-rah bit also goes well with Hoo-rah Henry university types, not that we want to be associated with such of course!
