I like this post from that forum
"Whereas Oxford United fans have been ****ting bricks for 12 months at the thought of him coming here."

I like this post from that forum "Whereas Oxford United fans have been ****ting bricks for 12 months at the thought of him coming here." Well this one's even better: Westley is a good shout, experienced and his teams play good pacey football.

That's what I was about to post Kahuna. Did they not see Stevenage this season or the abuse that team and club get on forums from every other fan in L2.

Surely, they've taken a risk with one L2 manager, so unless they want to end up in L2, they will not be appointing another one.
Wouldn't be too surprised if they went for Westley tho - he is "Warnock Lite" after all

Would be very very suprised to see it happen. As a few of their posters have said is there any other reason he has been linked with the job other than he is an ex-player. I can't see them going for an ex-player myself but who knows.
I also think seeing as the job has been available over the time that Capaldi and Ryan were signed states Wilders ambition and commitment. I don't know him personally but get the impression if he was going for it he wouldnt start spending money a week or two he might jump ship.
Anyway we shall see.

Someone asked @oufclive on twitter if their was any truth in the rumours. Their response:
"No! Management team here at the stadium working on signings for next season for Oxford United."

What I had hoped/thought may be the case. Wilder wouldnt be signing or working with players at Ox if he was about to leave to head up north.

Despite his Blades connections, that job has been a poisoned chalice for a few years now, so can't really see why CW would go at the moment.
What SUFC need is a steady and experienced hand to get them back in to the Championship, not an inexperienced L2 manager.
If CW did get the job, it would be a pretty odd appointment on every account - based on his league inexperience and their needs - which frankly don't marry up at all at the present time.

Not a big enough name yet for blades fans. He wasnt for us when he came here remember.
ROFL at the westley comments. I know theyve had some crap managers and football at bramall lane recently but there are blind men who can see stevenage dont play "good pacey football"

I think CW will need another promotion on his CV to attract a club of that size.

Steve Coppell would be a good choice but he would be mad to go there just as anyone would be

Interesting that Dave Bassett has been jettisoned also. Close mate of CW.

For me it would be crazy for SU to make the same potential mistake twice in such a short space of time, can see somebody with more experience going there.

IF he doesn't get the west ham post my bet is STEVE BRUCE Personally suprised Houghton isn't in with a shout for either job. May be more a West Ham prospect having got Newcastle out of the Championship
