I have been without a shirt since Bridle sponsored the yellows and as for any other apparel I won't be buying this either, some discrete logo'd items might be a good idea especially when Christmas is around.

Must say for all the good the club is doing at present, they have had a mare in the merchandise dept. To have no home shirts in most sizes available for the month before Christmas including last home game is criminal. They must have lost a fortune in lost sales. Still if Yankee style baseball caps is the thing now they will be ok!

The t shirts are rubbish, a screen printed ox head is a poor attempt! Same as the sweatshirt with the big yellow ox on the front, mate has one and reckons in two washes it will be gone, poor quality material as well. People are fed up of cheap stuff, make it a quality product and people will purchase it, from my three trips to the shop I doubt the profit pays the rent.

Is still early days, first season they have had it under their own control. They have said things need improving on there is a lot more to come. Think most of what they have got is what was quickly available. The new director guy was involved especially for his expertise in this area. Get it right and with no kit manufacturer then it should be a nice little earner, with more option for unique merchandise

I actually bought something in there yesterday. Got a hat, the missus said "I thought you'd get something more discreet", it was the most discreet one they had, a black 'beanie,, I think its called, with OUFC embroidered about an inch and a half high on the turnup bit.
I only actually paid £4.99 as had a £5 gift voucher
Most things are still pretty crap in there though, and expensive, those anthem jackets at £40 quid, f*ck me its just a tracksuit top, I'd want the whole bloody thing for that price :-)

Mrs Manorlounger and I paid a visit recently thinking of each other and those Christmas bits and bobs. We left empty handed and totally put off by the "tat" on offer. Cheap nasty printed stuff, silly hats, totally over priced and uninteresting crap.
Saturday, we bought a mug from the guys inside the ground (fantastic Ox goring a robin!) Far better stuff.
Someone has got their ideas all wrong with merchandise.

Must be the biggest selling product yet they only had a few for sale, I think we would all happily spend a few quid to proudly wear OUFC merchandise and the club at really missing a trick with this!

Can't help feeling a bit let down by the shop. Taking so long to stock things, then not ordering enough stuff and leaving a fair few missing out. Surely if you know there will be a large demand fir products then you should place a bigger order? Also going into the shop the other day many shirt sizes are sold out, right before Christmas when people are looking to buy that kind of thing, revenue opportunities have been missed i feel.

Surely if you know there will be a large demand fir products then you should place a bigger order? Also going into the shop the other day many shirt sizes are sold out, right before Christmas when people are looking to buy that kind of thing, revenue opportunities have been missed i feel. Unfortunately, this seems to be a growing area of criticism amongst members (OxVox members at least). Having invited feedback and questions for our meeting a fortnight ago, all of them revolved around the club shop and its offerings. Members of the committee have also experienced the issues first-hand. The stock, the key items, are simply sold out within days of them arriving. A number of members tried to order and pay and wait for the stock to arrive (so they were first in line) and the club shop staff couldn't accommodate it. The key selling periods (Pre-Season to end of September and then December for Christmas), the stock simply hasn't been there. The Anthem jackets, which were sold out around the 10 December, won't be in stock till mid January. The home shirts and the touchline raincoats, anyone who has been in there recently will vouch that the stock isn't there. The feedback has been passed back to the Chairman. They've missed a trick but there is a huge positive or two. Peter Lee has vast experience in merchandise and we hope he is taking control of this area of the business. We're sure it will improve immensely.

Good to hear OxVox are taking up our concerns, Said previously that we would all buy plenty of merchandise if it was available and better quality. Do they really think a big screen printed Ox head on some top which is vastly over priced is what we deserve?
I don't mind paying slightly over the odds to support the club as long as it's decent quality.
Should be decent designs on shirts, also decent retro gear including some HUFC themed stuff that celebrates our history.
It's all about generating income, and as many have said they club are really missing out!

But it's a shame if you wanted to get a present for someone for Christmas day and the stock isn't there. I'm sure it'll be sorted out soon enough.

I walked around to the club shop after the Yeovil JPT game, probably got there about 10 mins after the final whistle and it wasn't open. Don't know if this was because it was a small crowd and they weren't expecting much business?
If it is usually not open after games then that needs to change, only needs to be open for 30 to 60 mins after the final whistle.

To not have adequate numbers of home shirts in stock prior to Christmas and for Boxing Day is quite frankly shocking. The club have been on record saying that this is a one-season only shirt, so to then massively limit the opportunities for people to buy said shirt at the key times of where they should be maximising sales is quite frankly amateurish at best and a monumental cock up.
With the shirt now only having a 5 month lifespan, many people are not going to bother buying it and wait for next season's shirt. The one saving grace on this will be if we get promotion, some people may still want to buy, but not at £39.99.
This leads me to Boxing Day - one of the biggest retail days available to the club. People get given money at Christmas and want to spend it. To have inadequate stock again and then say "we should have stock in by mid-February". People will just take their money and spend it elsewhere on something else. My wife had got me an anthem top for Christmas - sadly it was the wrong size. So took it in to exchange it, can't replace it to mid-February. So the club are now issuing a refund and losing £40. How many other people have done the same?
People want to spend money and support the club. Merchandise should be one of THE most important areas in terms of revenue streams. It is the one thing that people will look at on a regular basis. We had 10k+ home supporters on Sunday - around 5k+ of those not regulars. Merchandising should have been in their faces. Instead, we have sharks outside the ground selling "half & half" scarves. Money being paid to someone which isn't then going to the club.
Merchandise done correctly is a goldmine for the club. Things like the anthem top are timeless. They have no sell by date so no reason why you shouldn't have plenty in stock. What you don't sell over Christmas will sell as time goes on. The kit however does have a finite lifespan and to not have any stock of the most popular sizes at all over the period you should be maximising your sales to the hilt is disastrous.
The club has got a lot of things right in the last 12 months, sadly merchandising is not one of them.

I know that a delivery of anthem jackets came in recently. I luckily had one on pre order and it appears this order was just sorting out the back orders. I've said it before and I'll say it again: if you know something is as popular as these jackets are, why doesn't the club put in a bigger order I'm not usually a moaner but the shop has not had enough stock and has been poor at getting stock in all year. Glad to say that the shop is the only thing to moan about atm. COYY

To be fair to the club, they arent in a position to be holding huge amounts of stock as this all ties up funds..... in an ideal world there would always be what we want in our size in stock, but it isnt this simple.
They arent like Man Utd where they can have iles of stock just waiting to replace what is already in store when its sold, there is only a limited customer base.
I appreciate it is disappointing but all stores run out of items at times, and this is on the high street as well as football club shops.
It seems that the range of items is improving? but in my experience, there isnt much difference to our selection of items as there is at other eague 2 clubs, ill admit i havent been into all of the opposition stores though.
The one disappointment for me is the online store, this should be better than it is and is a relatively simple thing to get right.

I see they have produced a commemorative t shirt for the milk cup final, a screen print of the programme cover, sorry but some cheap screen printed crap again! I hope there's more than that, how about a clever graphic design of Shott's lifting the cup and no t a screen printed photo

I disagree, I think the Milk Cup t-shirt is excellent.
Slowly but surely things are changing for the better in our retail department.
