But its not his fault! Poor old Sepp.
He'll win today. Africa think he's great and don't care about corruption as it's so much in their day to day lives. If it gets to a second vote, then that is a surprising no vote for Blatter. Europe is going to have to tolerate the fool in the short term.
It seems the UK authorities in the guise of the SFO are also investigating FIFA. This ain't gonna go away. I just hope once the FBI get into the arrestees, that they sing like canaries and the house of cards finally falls in on itself.

Anyone who thinks the process will anything other than 100% democratic don't know what they're talking about. Here is a copy of the voting slip if you don't believe me:-

Not suprisingly he won then. His victory speech was as nutty as ever, he really is a strange one.
Short of a break away I cant see a solution to FIFA corruption as to many of the poorer/smaller states profit from it to ever want change.

I honestly couldn't care less if England just boycotted the World Cup - even if no other country joined us.
Would happily watch us play in the Euros and sack off the World Cup and it's vile corruption.

My prediction is that world football will be a corrupt mess until 2019 at least.

I've changed my mind.
Lets go. Take part. Win the thing.
All the time the team wears shirts with the line 'Blatter is a corrupt w*nker' across the middle.

The winning speech was another rambling and incoherent mess. What an embarrassment that man is. Bernie Ecclestone is older, and while ever more eccentric, he looks in control of F1 and understands it has to continue to be relevant. Blatter looked like an OAP lost on a day out in Blackpool in comparison. He's lost control and I don't think he can ever get it back, especially with a lot of his EXCO arrested or rebelling against him.
Shame on Africa and shame on Asia. You've made your bed, you shall lie in it. I suspect some will hold long memories over this election. Football had a chance to willingly reform today. Greed got in the way.
I cannot in all conscience watch a FIFA tournament while it is in its current state. If it means no more WC, so be it. If England win, I won't be watching.

There is a great danger that anyone not wanting Blatter behind bars is seen as being equally as guilty of corruption and foul play, whereas that may well not actually be the case. Not every vote for Blatter today will have been from someone on the make from corruption, far from it! Yes, of course, the latest allegations are a factor, but for many countries, the two candidates also represent someone under whose watch FIFA have legitimately invested a lot of money in developing the game in Asia and Africa, against someone who is backed by the big European hitters and who therefore may be perceived as potentially re-directing money away from these smaller nations back into the big countries. To put it another way, if there was a forthcoming election for the Chairman of the FA, would we as a fourth tier club prefer someone who, up until now, has perhaps been perceived as a bit of bumbling idiot but has made sure that a good proportion of each TV deal has been channelled across the four divisions and beyond (aka 'Grass Roots') or someone jointly nominated by MUFC, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Man City? We in this country, along with the other major players in Europe, have obviously made a big thing out of what has being going on behind the scenes at FIFA for a while and are now strutting around saying 'told you so', but how is that perceived across the rest of the footballing world? Are we seen as being the bastions of fair-play who have heroically dug out corruption or are we seen as being poor losers from the last bidding round who are throwing our toys out of the pram screaming 'not fair!!' like a three year old and now gone and got our Mummy in from across the pond to throw their weight around? There is obviously a lot more to come out over the next few weeks and months, and a lot of people may get dragged in and a lot of practices will need to be erased, but I wonder whether ourselves and UEFA (and Prince Ali for that matter) would not be better served by a more conciliatory attitude with the developing regions regarding protecting and continuing the legitimate investment of FIFA funds in the game in their part of the world, rather than the current tendency to tar everyone with the same 'corruption' brush

That's true Mooro. The issue comes if UEFA walk away with the US and Australia. Where will those African countries sit then? FIFA has funds, but if the brand becomes toxic, sponsors won't go near it, and eventually the money will run out. Especially if there is a better product out there They have their jam today, but what about tomorrow?

70 votes for the Prince. I bet that includes most of the World Cup qualifiers. We could have a good tournament with that lot. I'm worried about how we're treating Jack Warner though. Not even understood in his own time. Mandella, Gandi, Princess Diana....step aside! www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-32940856

It's good to see the "racist" card get played by Sepp. Not seen that in a while. The piece of verbiage I've not seen Blatter called in all of this is anything to do with his race. Or the race of other people who have been arrested.

So does prince Ali just get the top job as he was the only other candidate ? It's an open election, so anyone can go for it. Prince Ali could be one, but in theory it could from anywhere. Just glad he's finally going. Cannot stand Blatter

The head of American "Soccer" could be a good bet

Supposedly they are quite the political mover and shaker. Big ambitions. I really don't want Gill or Dyke to go anywhere near it. Time to take a back seat. The issue is, who else is going to be arrested/implicated?
