Murphy has had to get out his old Amiga and that game that taught him how the world really works, once he has done that he will be able tell us what's really going on.

The stuff from the FBI is incredibly damning. It looks like the South Americans had many fingers in many pies, and there is more to come . It does make a mockery of the FIFA reforms they are trying to push through when one of the individuals is on the list. An endemic and systematic misuse of football.

Andrew Jennings is a typical English eccentric, but his investigation into FIFA over the past 20 years has been great and on the money. Good to see Panorama give him one last investigation.

Just watched tonight's Panorama and the revelations are truly shocking. Bribery and corruption on a grand scale in a Mafia style organisation from within FIFA. How on earth they are going to solve this and bring back the beautiful game to the people I have no idea. Someone must sort this out and soon.

The problem is the turkeys are trying not to vote for Christmas. It's a rotten organisation trying to cling on to the dying embers of the glory days.
Ultimately, FIFA needs to go, and something new has to come in place. Its the only way football can truly get back to the people.

Scrap the lot, and start again. This could well come about but will be a long drawn out process.

Yes I watched it and some of what was alleged to have gone on is absolutely disgraceful. It just seems that FIFA was institutionally corrupt. They showed Thompson who used to be a senior figure in the FA on the programme. Whether he was involved in the bribery who knows, but could anybody high up in FIFA not have known what was going on? It was almost like watching a football equivalent of a Mafia documentary. It will be interesting to see what happens to Blatter. I would be pretty surprised if he manages to avoid prison. FIFA is so corrupt that they do need to virtually start again. I wonder if some of the big leagues/ clubs are looking at this and wondering whether they should have more of an influence?

Blatter and Platini have been banned for 8 years from all football activities. Blatter comes out fighting it because its the only thing in his life. Meanwhile, the rest of football rejoices!

Hopefully Blatter has to carry on fighting whilst sat in a Swiss jail or even better an American Federal Prison. Are the Swiss authorities investigating Platini for corruption and hence on a criminal basis (I've forgotten if this is the case or not)?

Platini is a person of interest. While not under arrest, he's not completely legally in the clear. I suspect its a case of trying to unpick the webs of lies and deceit to get convictions.
Blatter is so blinded by his self appointed Mr FIFA cult of personality that he cannot see they are trying to not drag him through the mud and give him some dignity. Now is the time to walk away and retire on all those millions he was legitimately paid by FIFA

FIFA were very generous with their salary and expenses for those at the top table or two. Which makes it even odder that some people seem to have become obsessed with trying to do dodgy deals to get more of it.

It wouldn't be that they are allegedly in deep at FIFA would it?

It might just be that the IAAF runs a series of events where people do things that, put together right, might constitute a minor sport; and that these events are watched by a handful of geeks whereas football is a proper sport with millions of passionate followers throughout the universe.
