Hi all
Just a quick note of thanks for all the good wishes following my appointment as the new Chairman of Oxvox! I have to admit to a degree of nervousness for the task ahead and I've loads to learn, but I'm determined to further build on the excellent work of Mark and his team and will always put the interests of the fans of Oxford United at the heart of everything we do.
There are a number of things to put in place over the coming weeks, including establishing our new committee (we still have vacancies by the way!) as well as clearly formulating the key aims and areas of focus for the Trust. This will be done carefully and in consultation with members and other stakeholders.
Clarity of purpose is very important and may take a little while to properly pull together, so please bear with us!!
Thanks again and in the meantime, lets ALL do everything we can to get behind the players on Saturday. This game is massive, this is our OUR club and WE can make a difference!
COYY's!!
Cheers
Jem

I will echo the good luck messages. After seeing some of the abuse that Brahma and Sennett received at times it takes a special kind of fan to stand up and take on the role. Hope it goes well.

Best of luck Jem. I don't envy you and hope that the football club appreciate all of the time and effort Oxvox does on behalf of the supporters and the club itself.
As a member myself, I would like to know, when you have your feet under the table, where Oxvox stand on the Ground issue. Mark Sennett certainly had strong things to say when he left the Chair, making comments such as degradation of duty in respect of the Board on the subject. He suggested that it was his personal opinion, but the strength of his feelings were clear. I suspect that this may be one of the hot subjects for the supporters group and I will be interested in your/ Oxvox's take on this.

Thanks Foley.
What we can say on the ground situation, is that Darryl Eales IS definitely fully committed to exploring all possibilities. He see OUFC owning its own ground as vitally important (wherever that might be!)
Our new Committee have spent a lot of time getting up to speed on Water Eaton and it does appear to be an exciting possibility! I do stress 'possibility' though, as there is undoubtedly a lot of work still to do on the detail for it to become a reality.
DE IS aware of things and has meetings planned with the various stakeholders. Info that OxVox has IS in his possession. We'll do all we can to support the club.
We'll try and keep everyone informed as things develop, but crucial to everything is the key stakeholders - FK, The Local Council(s) and DE, etc. getting together to thrash out what might be possible. We're sure this will happen!
Hope that helps!
Cheers
Jem

Thanks Ste, appreciated. Jem will be perfect for the role and I am still helping him and his new committee as and when they need it. Same applies for Mark and Matthew. Committee Meeting notes will be sent to members in the next week or so from the meeting we had this week where the handover started and I ask everyone who is on Twitter to follow the join_oxvox account as it will be used a lot more often to get messages out.

Good luck in the new role, it's will be an interesting time for you and your new committee. Your post confirming that the club has all the info is uplifting and it puts to bed the theory that the new owners are not interested in the stadium.
Once again good luck.

I've just sent my book "the Beginners Guide to making Origami from Quince" to the clubs owners
I think that puts to bed the idea that they're not interested in Quince Origami

We should expect a statement in a reasonable timeframe. Before kick-off today should do.
