Yes. sort of. We've done okay but we could have done alot better

We would have all taken this in the Summer, yeah we dropped silly points, lost games we should have won. But i bet 75+% of teams in our league can say the same. As long as we keep progressing every season we should all be satisfied

I believe I was called a 'joke' for suggesting that I was satisfied with the season a few games ago.
Wilder's hardly the ultimate authority on everything but I think he's got it spot on here, and I hope people won't be calling him a joke for saying it. Decent season, could have done better, but could have done worse, more positives than negatives and a good outlook for next season.
Like rollsy said, we're one of many teams who will be thinking exactly the same sort of things, but unlike them we've had problems adjusting to a new, tougher league, and presumably we'll be better settled next season. Progression next season is key, I'd hope that involves playoffs rather than keeping us waiting another year, but it wouldn't be the end of the world if we went up in 2 seasons rather than 1.

I think the third comment of the responses to the article says it all; 'Satisfactory first season back'

I's say a little disappointing really. We have ended up only 6 points below the play-offs so have missed out on at least one extra pay day. At the start of the season I felt we would be good enough to challenge for the play-offs but we have not quite done that all season. So near yet so far. Not a major disappointment as I have enjoyed most of the games, except Bradford away and Stevenage at home, but my end of year report would say "could have done better".

Generally happy although when you look at the teams who have made the play offs can't help feeling a little disappointed, still think question marks over wilders signings during the season? Hopefully we can keep momentum for next year. A bit more experience in the squad and we will do well. Still very proud to be a yellow! Have a good summer all!

The position we finished is ok, but would have hoped for more. The disappointing thing is that we dropped points in quite a few games that were there for the taking and which we should have won - that is disappointing.
The signings CW made during the season have by and large not improved the team from the one that beat Bristol Rovers at the beginning of the season. Disappointed that an underperforming CB partnership was just left to carry on for match after match.

Of course we 'Could have done better' - as it happens we were mediocre imho. I wouldn't echo what the manager says when he's apparently satisfied with the season overall, he (Wilder) and the team need to step up a few notches next season and the minimum we should be aiming for is a Play Off place.

Satisfied with our finishing position maybe. Satisfied with his tactical decisions, hope not. Satisfied with his signings, please no!

Overall, I think it's been pretty shit really So its promotion or its a shit season for you is it? Its fans like you that make me laugh, thick as shite and unable to take any other factor into account other than the fact that we have a few more fans than some clubs. First season back in the Football league and we come midtable, thats satisfactory to me anyway. Its left us in a lot stronger position than we were in at the end of last season what with knowing the league and knowing where we need to improve. Should think we will find it a bit easier to bring in players now we will be regarded as a decent team for the division. If you call a 12th place finish a shit season what words does that leave to describe a season where you get relegated?

6th to 14th was 8points (69-61) and 15th to 23rd eight also (55-47). So apart from the top 5 we are in a reasonable group of 9 teams and will look to learn from this. I think wilder should look for academy rejects from championship sides rather than talent from non-league.

I am happy that we finished well clear of the bottom two. Some disappointment though in seeing the likes of Bury, Accrington and Torquay faring better than us. Our defence had it been more solid would have put us in the play offs Our problem is lack of clinical finishing. I know Batt is no striker, but to miss from six yards

We have not defended well enough, only 11 clean sheets in 50 games is not good enough. If we are to challenge next season then we have to address that. We probably need to find some more goals as well.

Correct damianvt - it's ALL down to our crap defence; if the midfield & attack had more confidence in the defenders they could do their jobs better. Still think it reflects badly on our coaching staff - all 'defenders'.

Anyone who thinks next season is deluded? Have another drink and go lie down. Anyone who thinks that next season will be any different are deluded. In facet I believe it'll be harder. Well aren't you a bundle of sunshine? What on earth makes you think next season will be so much harder? We don't even know who will be playing next season, no one has made any signings yet and there's very little to suggest that any of the new sides joining the league will offer more of a threat than those who have just left the league. With a year's experience under our belts and a bigger playing budget we can strengthen the squad. There's every reason to be hopeful for next season so why all the negativity?
