The 2 CEO's are talking which is something that hasnt happened for the last couple of years. The £6.30 a pint was the price the LW management told us, I dont drink lager but think it was because it isnt the normal lager that is on sale. Rugby fans find it strange on 2 counts. Frstly that you cant take beer from outside into the stadium and secondly the Kassam is one if not the only stadium where you cant leave to go outside for a cig. I know the people who sell the alcohol outside are not to do with the stadium. Just like taking a drink from one pub to the other. You have 3 different companies Stadium, Lyndley caterers ( now called centrepiece) who sell in the stands and the outside bar, so never going to be a easy situation. It's not the stadium who set the rules on smoking, On match days the full running of the stadium is handed over to the football club and rugby club.

Not everything is handed over on match days. The stewarding is the same crew as the football and they are run by Kassam which is the big problem. If we look at another club that has the 2 type of game in the same stadium they can do it ie. Reading/ London Irish. The main difference for them is that the main bars are inside the ground. You say the catering inside is run by a different company but the profit from them goes to Kassam. Everything inside the stadium walls is controlled by Kassam even if the staff are run by a different person/company. Even Bristol allows smoking outside the stadium during half time with crowds of 10000+. There is a safety committee which has 25 members on it including members from both clubs/ fire brigade/police and council among others and they set the rules. But they only meet 3 times a year

"You say the catering inside is run by a different company but the profit from them goes to Kassam."
Are you seriously suggesting that the inside caterers - Centerpiece - run their franchise on a non-profit basis?

he supplies everything. they just work for him. same as the bar staff. he supplies the beer through his company and they serve it. thats why the prices are so high

I know for a fact that the people who serve beer outside have nothing to do with the stadium. The stewards also do not work for the stadium, so whoever has told you that has misinformed you. Kassam has done a lot of things wrong, yes, the drinks are expensive inside the stadium, but can't blame him for outside bar or stewards.

He gets the contract tender and Centerplate try and make a profit. Anything else you have heard is not worth listening to........

I'd take that statement further; judging by his posts today, anything ovalball posts is not worth reading.
