Over the summer the Yellow Army opened a dedicated bank account and we are pleased to announce that we are now accepting donations via standing orders – and better yet we are offering free gifts to those of you kind enough to set up a standing order! All donations will go directly towards helping the Yellow Army support our club: 80% of profits will be donated to the Youth and Community Trust and 20% will be used on projects to help improve the match-day atmosphere. If you set up a standing order for £5 a month we will send you a Yellow Army key ring and pin badge for free. If you set up a standing order for £10 a month we will send you one of the popular Yellow Army scarves. And to those of you kind enough to donate £15 or more a month we will send you our entire current range of merchandise: scarf, mug, car sticker, pin badge, and trolley coin key ring. This provides a great way for fellow Yellows to help support the Yellow Army’s work. A number of exiles have previously been in touch requesting an online shop and the Yellow Army has received the odd donation – so it is hoped this scheme will appeal fans. All you have to do is set up the standing order with your bank and email info@yellowarmy.co.uk with your postal address so we can send out your free gifts. We will only send out the items once your first payment has cleared. So if you’d like to donate here’s the details you need to tell your bank: Bank: Natwest Account number: 24866466 Sort code: 54-21-23 Any amount will be gratefully received and will make a real difference. Thank you for your continued incredible support. Together we can make a difference. Come on you Yellows!

Ha that's one way of looking at it!! If we can get 100 people giving just £5 each per month that's £6k we could raise. We thought it would be a nice way to reward people by giving them a free gift to say thanks for donating.

I'm sorry Mark but in my view it would be better to donate 100% of the funds to the youth and community trust, because how ever you may tinker with it we will still be playing in the souless wind tunnel we are forced to call home.

To be honest I think by diluting funds to various groups is counter productive. Fair enough OxVox require membership fees but not really sure why I'd commit to a standing order to the Yellow Army, if it was to a truly independent fund for something like buying the ground or building a new one but anything else is just absorbed too easily. I wasn't a big fan of the 12th man funds helping with transfers as that is here today gone tomorrow, why not raise money for something that will be here for the long term?

How can anything be free if it will cost at least £5 a month? Not knocking it, just asking.

I think it is a good idea but more details of what that 20% is being spent on is needed.
People aren't going to pay £5 a month so people can wave a few more flags at games.
There needs to be a proper plan of what the yellow army group want to do with that money. Before then, i can't see many people just giving up £5 a month for the sake of it.

If everyone was an oxvox member and this was a way of extracting further cash, then I would be positive. I'm afraid I think that until oxvox membership is up in the thousands, any other scheme that gets people to commit to significant repeating funds is flawed. I'd be more favourable if the first 10 quid per year paid for oxvox membership, or something - haven't really thought it through.

Who is in charge? What is the mandate? What are the aims? Who controls the cash? Who approves the spend? Who are the elected officials?
Sorry, not giving a penny unless I know the above

Who is in charge? What is the mandate? What are the aims? Who controls the cash? Who approves the spend? Who are the elected officials? Sorry, not giving a penny unless I know the above There were no elected officials on the 12th man and there aren't on the YA. The bank signatories are myself, Joe Nicholls, Greig Box Turnbull. The decisions on spend for merchandise are made by myself, Charlie methven, joe nicholls, matt organ, greig box turnbull. The constitution will appear soon on the YA website. I handle all the cash and I bank it all. Aims are to raise funds for Oxford United Youth and Community Trust and for projects to improve the match day atmosphere (eg banners and displays). Split of profits is 80% to OUYCT and 20% to match day atmosphere. Breakdown of costs and income is on our website. This will soon be updated to include first 2 games takings. This has been said on multiple threads but happy to clarify once again. Anyone is welcome to volunteer to help out as the Wakeford family kindly did today.

I get the split and understand what the yellow army want to do. I am just not sure if there would not be something else more worth while to collect money for to use on OUFC rather than just a few banners and flags. That isn't meant to sound disrespectful to the work these fans do.
