We need all the players to track back even Berbatov does it now.

Cain wasn't quick. JMW is blisteringly quick. I can see Wilder's logic - another option in games and we can introduce this guy late to attack the fullbacks.

I am really pleased with this signing. Seen him play b4, in League 1. He scored and was excellent. Always sign him on football manager too lol. I think he will be a very good signing, and will turn games if he comes on.
I'm reasonbly happy with it...

Ultimately you have to balance the books and that means getting one or two gambles in on the cheap and seeing how they fair. Gaughn and this lad seem to fit that bill. Looking at his history ect (clubs and other fans views) i doubt he will do much, in fact i doubt he will feature too much. Other players we have got from Scotland have not looked that great ie Dave Mackuay and Craig whatever his name was. Kinnerburgh has potential but on the whole i don't think the Scottish leagues are any better than league two. However, he has pace, potential and is young and I understand why Wilder wants to have a look. I really really doubt that this lad is costing much and so is worth the punt. If it comes off great if not then no big deal.

If we keep signing players are the ones we have not good enough, we now have gaughn sangare, and this winger .I wonder who will make way.We must have a pretty good reserve team now. Who's made way for Gaughan or Sangare? Nobody. I don't expect Myrie-Williams to start.

Amazed at this signing.
We don't need a winger, particularly with Wilder's record in that dept
What we need is specialist cover for McClaren
If he has been signed instead of a holding midfielder, then I just don't get it

according to a BCFC fan i know he has ridiculous pace but not much else. Reminds me of a certain Yemi Odubade. Maybe Ken on the radio will be happy enough with a player LIKE Yemi back at the club!

He will be used as a super sub because of his unbelievable pace. Like a lot of wingers (although nothing like alfie) he will be lazy and won't track back much which is why he won't be starting. Bringing him and alfie off the bench if we're trailing could be lethal against tired defenders. And by the way, for football manager players, he is amazing on it, usually goes to league 1 and championship clubs and is a free transfer at the start! So glad we've got him for that

another player who has had large potential but for one reason or another has not fulfilled it as yet. Hopefully will get a chance as he sounds like another bit of flair which may take some expection off Alfie. The end of Cole and Green out on loan, I would think comes next Just like Damian Batt. He was a bit of a waif and stray before he came here, barely making 20 appearances at any of the clubs he had been at, but Wilder has turned him into a reliable performer. I had him in my top five signings by Wilder. This lad could be one of those. Hasn't quite found a home yet, but Oxford could be it. If he fits Wilder's footballing ethos, he could be a great signing.

Love a winger, especially a leftie. Plays on the right according to Claridge, then again OM headline says left. Caveats. We are doing rather well without any in the starting XI, there is a local option and those presently at the club (Cole and Deering) haven’t been offloaded yet. As always judge him once we’ve seen him.

but Sangare can play holding midfield. No need for another... Josh P can play there if needs be as well Beav old son Payne is not, never in a milion years, a holding midfielder He's a Murray type. A playmaker. Not a stopper. Bulman was a stopper, so was Martin Gray way back when, Hargreaves etc. McLaren is too, just with way more class than we've seen for years Sangare can play there? We'll see but I am far from convinced. square peg and round hol springs to mind. he is a centre back and holding midfield is specialist and important i fear for us if mclaren is injured, that's all, and think any spare wage should have been spent on proper, specialist cover

I think we could cover the defensive midfield area if required and I'm happy that we've signed another potential match winner. The new guys played at a decent standard and what we need to take in to account is that Plymouth fans labelled MacLean lazy & uninterested.
Why don't we just wait and see?

Bullman and Hargreaves were NOT holding midfielders. They were combative but not holding, not in a million years. They chased and harried people all over the park (including strikers) but they did not sit in front of the defence holding. Murray you could argue was a holding midfielder and so is Payne to an extent. This is in the same way Carrick is. He is very creative but often sits in fromt of the defence. Often this is where Murray played and Payne too.

Sounds like he has a yard of pace, which is something we certainly don't have at the moment. Will add another dimension to our game I suppose.
Not that i want to write the lad off before he touches a ball but I do always worry slightly about players who are descibed as having 'blistering pace' as it often seems to be shorthand for 'headless chicken.'

I'm pleased with this signing even before I've seen him play! It makes sense.
I agree with those who see this as about money. CW has a little bit of spare cash (could be Green etc going out on loan) and thinks that this lad will be worth an extended look. Given his reputation for being lazy, the message will be simple: work hard, or there's no chance of a contract post May.
I don't really worry about the holding midfielder role - I'm more concerned about centre backs, where one injury and a red card would apparently see us with a Sangare / Purkiss combination, which I would not fancy against top class strikers.
