Just been reading something about Burton Albion.
Obviously they knocked us out of the F.A.cup and in fact are still in it.
But due to there involvement in the cup and the weather, they have
already in January a massive fixture pile up.
They are 20th in the league, level points with Barnet in 23rd and 1 point
off the bottom.
They are 13 points behind Oxford in 7th.
But they have only played 21 games,5 less than Oxford and 6 less than
the bottom 2.
They have not played a league game since the 3rd of Jan and amazingly
only 3 league games since the 23rd of November.
They have still got to play 25 league games in 14 weeks.
This Saturday they are away at Burnley in the cup so will fall even further
behind.
Now if they win all there games in hand they will be in a play off position,
if they beat Burnley they will be in the 5th round of the cup for the first
time in there history.
But if they lose all there games in hand they will be in a relegation spot,
if they draw at Burnley they will lose another midweek slot, and if they
beat them in the replay they will lose another Saturday to the cup.
So they could be in a great situation regarding the cup, financially and glory
wise, but could be in the almost impossible situation of having to play
23 league games in 12 weeks.
Is this a one off situation when perhaps you want your team to lose?
Would you swap places with them for the money and still being in the cup?Giving us financial stability.
Are you glad we lost in the first round?
Or are you confident with our squad, and think we could have our cake and eat it?
