Anyone watching? Lively start so far. Muller just scored a pen to put Germany ahead, could have been a red for Portugal player. Just over 10 minutes gone and both teams have had decent chances.

Portugal are making it so difficult for themselves. Chances going begging for them and now down to 10.
Also, Clive Tylesley = Baldy? Loves talking about Manchester United and just had a loving monologue about how the Hummels has been linked to them. If I'd heard 'done deal' or 'imminent' then I think we could put a name to the Bald one!

Don't understand why Cannovaro is a pundit. He can't even speak fluent English.

What has Chiles got his knickers in such a twist about? Is this the first time he's seen a player exaggerate contact? And everyone knows if you put your head into someone else's then you're asking for trouble, don't understand how he can be shocked. What a cock. He should have stuck to The One Show.

Pepe is an idiot for going towards him with his head.
If you don't do that, you won't get sent off.
Lee Dixon got it right.
Muller's reaction to the first part was pathetic, Pepe's reaction was stupid.

Germany turn out to be good at a World Cup? Who'd have predicted that!
As far as red cards go - the refs at this World Cup seem actively to be trying not to send people off (see Pogba yesterday, and the guy who gave away a penalty today - both have been red card offenses in previous tournaments). But if you're as idiotic as Pepe (or that Uruguayan dude) then you're not going to last long regardless.......

According to Phil Neville on BBC, Pepe "didn't touch him".
How much are they paying him?

For once I agree with Chiles, should there not be a greater punishment for cheating than stupidity?? Well done to Dixon too for not just accepting it like the other two!

Muller deserves the sending off for simulation. He dishes it out but can't take it. A one game ban should be given for cheating.

I agree, the game is a bit of a joke right now with all the cheating - something should be done, even if it is a review process after games by a panel. Warnings can be given to offending players confidentially. Repeat offenders should result in them being banned for a period of matches.

My suggestion would be that the match officials themselves get the opportunity to go thru tv footage after the game to asssess any incidents and either dishout extra cards for simulation or resind any where theyve got it wrong. That way, theyget to maintain their integrity rather than being undermined by "the panel" and also cheats know they will be caught.

Actually, I'm surprised FIFA hasn't thought of retrospective carding already. After all, it offers potentially un-parallellable opportunities for the refs to make nice little earners.
I'm confident this'll be in place by 2022, otherwise Qatar will be fucked in the group stages.
