I'm so excited. I can't wait until Brazil kick off against Croatia tomorrow, I just love the World Cup. Is anyone else going to attempt to watch every game?

I've painted the fence with this paint that is guaranteed not to dry and I'd rather watch the fence dry...

Nope.
Looking forward to it though.
Imagine the sadness of that last montage at the end of the tournament and not wanting it to end. IMAGINE IT!

Not a bad idea but I want to go all out. The ones that clash will have one on iPad and one on TV. I worked it all out

Ivory Coast v Japan finishing at about 4 in the morning on Sunday will be a killer especially Piece on cake on a Saturday night. Looking forward to seeing Ivory Coast play so I'll be up for that one. Tricky one for me is Colombia vs. Greece at 5pm on Saturday afternoon because I'm at Lord's that day. Unless it's raining, finished already or particularly dull - I'd probably rather watch the live sport I've paid for than get in front of a TV! Especially when Greece are playing....... If it wasn't for that, I would be making a concerted effort for the full 55 (64 minus the eight group games that happen simultaneously, and the 3rd/4th placed playoff which is pointless)

Going to give it a good go. May miss a few minutes here and there, but with all KOs happening outside of 'core hours' at work, I can get a good few in. Trickiest element will be either starting early in order to get home for the 5pm KOs and then falling asleep for the 11pm KOs or staying later at work and missing the 5pm KOs in order to stay up for the 11pms.
Decisions, decisions!
And TonyW, for the simultaneous KOs, it's going to be TV for one and my laptop streaming the match for the other.

I'm not going to miss a goal if I can help it. The 3rd place playoff usually has goals, so may be worth a watch.

The WC doesn't stimulate the same level of anticipation in me that the league kick off does every year.
I'm looking forward to it but will probably only watch a select number of games from start to finish. Algeria v Honduras, for example, would hold my attention span for about five minutes.

Or give me your ticket

Is that the Premiership or the Football League you are talking about Mr Two Teams? Considering that the earliest these two sides can meet in the WC is the quarter final stage then I'm sure you'll be watching

For the first time ever I've got no enthusiasm for the World Cup
I will try & watch all the England games but where in the past I would watch most, if not all games, this time around I cant be bothered.
Maybe it all those years of building it up and being let down by England [when we qualified] have taken there toll.
I've travelled to World Cups & Euros in the past, not as much as loads of Oxford fans I know, but rarely do now, still all said and done I hope its a good one and we are pleasantly supprised by England

The 5/8/11pm starts are only for the first ten days or so of the tournament - so tomorrow, and then next week. Your body can cope with a bit less sleep for that long!! i think the majority of the games out here are at 8pm, 11pm and 2am - already booked Sunday off work for the England match Did a massive double take there at the Sunday off-work thing until I checked your username!

I'm looking forward to it but will probably only watch a select number of games from start to finish. Algeria v Honduras, for example, would hold my attention span for about five minutes. Ignoring the fact that this fixture is very unlikely to happen, so extending it to actual matches such as Algeria vs. South Korea or Honduras vs. Ecuador..... For me, those games are exactly what I love about the World Cup. Non-traditional footballing nations, and unfamiliar players that usually strut their stuff in footballing backwaters (occasionally with a recognisable Premiership face thrown in) getting their moment in the limelight. And the condensed format of a World Cup means that they have a chance - not to win the Cup, but to cause a shock or two and maybe progress at the expense of the usual powers. If previous World Cups tell us anything, it's that there will be at least one "minnow" who goes further than anyone expects and at least one "giant" that goes home early. The great joy, I find, is seeing the groups slowly unfold as we find out who those teams might be this year. By the time we get to the Quarter Finals, perversely, I'm less interested. They become like a slightly watered down version of the Champions League. But the next two weeks - football awesomeness! Under six hours and counting!!!

Awesome start to the tournament!
Eight games in.....none of them having been dull. Couple of shock results, one Dutch performance for the ages. And 28 goals in 8 games, a rate of 3.5/game which is more than a gpg more than four years ago and the highest since 1958.
I'm sure it won't last and some proper dull matches are coming soon - but there does seem to be a more attacking spirit than we've seen at recent tournaments. Relatively few teams have turned up in "Park the Bus" mood. And there's perhaps a bit of a dearth of really top class defenders at the moment?
I love the World Cup. Bring on Switzerland and Ecuador!!
