FIFA also ranks England as the 10th best side in the world. I'll take their "rankings" with a pinch of salt.

Feeling confident of getting out of the group.
I know Italy have a history of dreadful pre tournament results and then coming good, but I don't fancy them at all
Us and Uruguay

It makes interesting reading when the organizers, allow/enable three of the top ten teams (according to how FIFA formulated their data) to compete with one another at a group stage? Was and am completely baffled, how Switzerland ranked sixth? And South Korea ranked at filthy-seventh? Wtf ?? So, I decided to check out Elo’s ranting: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Football_Elo_RatingsThen again, UAE ranked forty-eighth seem generous! Am not a massive admirer of FIFA, mainly for the way the World Cups hosts 2018 & 2022 were handed out like ice creams to the two the riches kids at the back of the line.

There's more world cups won in England's group than any other group.

There's more world cups won in England's group than any other group. Would be great to have an all Group D final, with England! I would say Group B looks the toughest, especially, if you’re Australia…

C,E,H are for me the groups Englamd would want to be in. I reckon were in 1 of the 2 hardest.
Quite looking forward to it.

If we do get through the group then in the 'round of 16' we are paired with the winners or runners up of group C which I think is weakest group of all. The trouble is that we would probably then have to play either Spain or Brazil in the quarter finals.

I think I would be happy with a final 8 finish. Anything more is a bonus.

The trouble is that we would probably then have to play either Spain or Brazil in the quarter finals. It may not be reflected in the World Rankings, but I reckon Groups E & H are substantially weaker than C. Colombia and Ivory Coast are both good sides that would cause us a lot of bother in a knockout match. Meanwhile France may be useful if they keep their heads straight, but I don't buy into Switzerland in Group E and we know Ecuador & Honduras aren't great. And I think Belgium are substantially overhyped, and yet they're still head and shoulders above the other teams in Group H. Probably wouldn't expect anyone from that group to beat anyone from Group G.
