Hi
I am organising a 6 a-side football tournament at Oxford City Football Club on Saturday 19 April 2014, the day after Oxford United take on York City. I am appealing to Oxford United fans to enter teams to participate in the tournament.
'Shirts4SaoPaulo'
The tournament is in aid of 'Shirts4SaoPaulo', my campaign to collect unwanted football shirts to donate during the World Cup to children and young adults in Eldorado - a marginalised community in Sao Paulo. Eldorado, on the outskirts of Sao Paulo is an area with high levels of poverty, violence, drug and alcohol abuse as well as illiteracy.
All football shirts collected will be donated to ACER Brasil, a charity in Sao Paulo helping to support 600 children and young adults in Eldorado, and I will be visiting the charity during my trip to the World Cup.
Football shirt amnesty tournament
- The tournament will be held in the morning of Saturday 19 April on the 3G pitches next to Oxford City
- Fun and friendly tournament with prizes for the team donating the most shirts and for winning teams.
- The cost (£80 per team) includes entry into the Skrill North game between Oxford City and Hednesford Town in the afternoon.
- The entry fee will contribute towards the cost to send the shirts to Sao Paulo
