Certainly no defender or keeper would get it.We've been hopeless defensively and it would be ridiculous to present it to either Clarke or one of the defenders. Did someone suggest Clarke gets it ? He's made some right howlers this season and would not even come into my thinking.
McLaren is the stand out player and I think Beano has had a decent season, not a vintage one but one where we still look a lot more threatening with him in the team and he's had a pretty good return in a team that has been racked by inconsistency.

Beano for me given his goal return when he has been in and out of the side and has precious little help from most of those who played alongside him (and I do include Craddock and Maclean).

McLaren's only been here half the season. I think that disqualifies you from the award no matter how good he's been. beano for me.

He's made some right howlers this season and would not even come into my thinking. Has he? I'm not saying you're necessarily wrong, just that I don't remember all that many. Probably my memory going. I know he didn't have a great game against Bury, but I don't remember all that many true shockers. Whereas I can remember individual shockers that cost us goals from Wright, Tonkin, Worley & Batt..... Working on the notion that you can't really give Player of the Season to someone who's only played in 15 games - I was leaning towards Clarke based on him having been an ever present and generally solid (along with making quite a few world class saves). Beano is a reasonable shout - although he has had a couple of stretches himself where he couldn't hit a barn door.....

Got to be either Clarke or Constable. McLaren has been good, but probably not played in enough matches for a season award.

i've gone for Craddock for the pure fact that he has scored 15 goals from being played in the wrong position. Scored some key goals as well - Port Vale at home, Chesterfield away.

I went for Clarke.
I ruled out players who hadn't been here all season to start with (maybe next year Mr McLaren!). For me that left Craddock, Clarke and Constable in contention. Craddock has done well in a position that is plainly not his favourite, and Beano has been captain, goalscorer and, at times, defender as well. Both of them have scored roughly the same amount of goals.
But Clarke has made some blinding saves this year, even as recently as that great double save a week or so ago. And penalty saves as well. He's not perfect (who is!), but his first season in the league for us has been excellent.
