Hello
On Tuesday i heard the sad news that an Oxford fan passed away.
I dont know his name, but I am sure people would know who he is. He is the chap that had no hands. Often used the London Road Club to attend games.
Does anyone know him?

His name is Steve, and lived in Witney. He was found dead in his bed by his brother last Saturday. He went to most games, away fans would def know him by sight.
RIP

Very sad news.
I first met Steve back in 1999 at Chesterfield. A really nice guy.
He travelled to most away games on the coach with a chap called Terry from out Witney way.
RIP Steve.

I sat next to him on the London road coach once. Found it amazing how he did things with no hands. A sad loss, like any fan passing.

I had a season ticket in the SSU last season and a gentleman sitting just along from me had such disabilities but was always happy and smiling and friendly. I'm not sure if this is the same fan, but it is very sad loss to our club. Rest in Peace

If this refers to Steve Townsend could someone kindly let me know how you found out? Steve is/was a very good friend of mine for over 50 years but I don't have his brothers address and I'd like to pay my respects. Thank you very much.

Extremely sad news. I first met Steve in 1977. We both attended Witney Technical College, as was, and I regularly saw him at the Manor back in those days, he normally stood on the London Road. He was a season ticket holder in SSU more recently and as others have remarked went to many away games. A true supporter of the club through thick and thin.
RIP mate.
