Great news even if OGB will try to get it past an independent tribunal. It's one step closer...

OxVox Towers tonight. ...or is it too early ? well, there's the possibility of a tribunal to come, and we should remember that this listing is a means to an end: trying to achieve community ownership of the stadium. if that becomes a reality, the champagne will certainly be opened! the council overturning the decision would have been a setback though, so good news nonetheless now that this review has upheld the decision.

Great news. Anything to upset the money grabber! Opposite views to those on here in the main on 'yellow voice' - and personal attacks on OxVox Committee members. Must have a very large quantity of sour grapes between them!

People are entitled to differing views. Personal attacks don't bother me and it's the reason i don't post on there. The feedback we've had on this has been very positive social media, and this forum and emails we've had have all been very encouraging. We've spoken to hundreds of fans since this came into force in May and an overwhelming majority have backed this move as did our members at our last meeting. Also it has led to a large number of other Trusts following our lead on this one and the Government website even now promotes the fact that stadia can be listed. So its good to see Oxford United and OxVox be leading the way on something positive like this.
The legislation is a good protectionary measure for Oxford fans but it's not damaging to Firoka as ultimately they can sell to whomoever they want, which is why Man Utd's owners dropped their appeal. But as we've said this is the start of a wider aim for us as we continue to work closely with Oxford United to see if we can help facilitate eventually buying the ground. There are no promises of anything but our members in surveys and at meetings are adamaent that we should explore every avenue in this area and we've subsequently had some very productive conversations. Also the conversation we had with Mr Kassam was very positive following the RTB and we will be in touch with him again soon.
You can see that on the back of this initial decision we've had support on twitter from Simon Lenagan and furthermore we've formed strong relationships with councils, legal experts, and government ministers. This is something we've dedicated a huge amount of time to and we didn't make an application until we were properly briefed on all angles and outcomes. There has been no financial spend on this by OxVox and neither will there be at any potential tribunal. So any accusation from people on the other forum that we don't know what we were doing is very inaccurate we know this legislation very well after speaking to the people that created it and enforce it.
So its worth noting that should a bid be accepted and OxVox has a 6 week window to say if it would like to lodge its own bid we would at that period ballot members on that decision. So if you're not a member this is a very important reason to consider joining.

Cheers for the Info Mark, i'm sure the time and effort put in by yourself and OxVox Committee members is appreciated by most. Can you say whether the Group has or is in the process of approaching potential backers should the time and opportunity to bid for the Stadium present itself?

But it i hope that if it came to ballot, Oxvox would see the bigger picture and gauge opinions of the whole fan base irrespective of membership of oxvox as this would the biggest development in years

MCF86 - yes is the answer to that it's the key area of what we are working on. If we are ever in a position to make a community bid all details would be given to members to vote on before we pressed ahead.
Finlandia - I'd think on that issue we'd have an open meeting and discuss just that point right at the start. But certainly this issue is a key reason why fans should consider joining a OxVox.
Thanks to both for your kind words.
