Same old, same old. For me Wilder has to go. Ideal time tonight to get a run going, for me I just think Wilder has lost it.

Thought Williams did some good stuff on the wing, but really shone in a sort of free-floating attacking midfielder type - he was all over the pitch. Guess Wilder was trying to preserve this by putting Smalley out on the wing when Potter came off.

Probably the most entertaining games I've watched this season at home. Result was shite but I'd rather see us lose like that than like we did on Saturday. Didn't quite get the subs.. I'm hoping CW is saving Williams for Saturday. Drop Hunt, Bevans looked good in pre-season.He's not going to start him in a league game if he couldn't get on the field tonight !

We played really well 1st half, passing, movement, thought Williams, Davies and Rufels looked good. So why did we start hoofing it long second half? (Although it suited Raynes at the end) MOM Williams, Worry; Is Newey turning into Hunt?
Thought Oxford Mail stand 1st half were excellent! And a good turn out by Pompey. ( Reckon they would bring 3,500 + for league game if we give them enough tickets.

Best game of the season at home. Good football and pretty good atmosphere from a small but boisterous crowd- those that chose not to pay a tenner missed out.
Never thought I'd be saying we missed Alfie, but when he went off, we changed shaped and that was very much in evidence once the 2nd half got underway. Even though we lost the dominance we had enjoyed in the first period, it was only when Agyemang worked a bit of magic - cracking goal against the run of play - that we started to look second best; Pompey started to play without fear and forced us into the dreaded route one type football that has little appeal and less result.
MoM for me was Scotty Davies, never gave up and always looked good on the ball - Williams was a close second. Serious contenders for a start on Saturday IMHO, but I also feel we need abit of Andy Whing back in the centre. They always say having too many players to pick from is a "good problem" for a manager, in which case tonight has shown that CW has indeed got a good problem to face for Saturday.

I though all 4 of the midfielders did very well. Impressed with Williams' first touch - he could teach Potter and Beano a lot about bringing the ball under control first time.
Scott Davies was very good I though, got around the pitch well, put in tackles, used the ball well. Ruffles didn't look out of place in the first team. COD looked more threatening than he did on Saturday, his confidence will grow the more he plays.
I thought we missed Kitson. He's not been much of a goal threat since he's been here, but his ability to hold the ball up and play a dangerous pass would have suited playing with 3 tricky attackers around him (Potter, Williams and O'Dowda).
I'd be happy with a front 6 of:
Davies Rose Williams Potter O'Dowda Kitson
on Saturday

I agree with most of what you say, but what did the fans who stayed away miss out on? We got beat by a poor team. We never created many chances. It was a supposed good performance, but I would say that's being judged on the low expectations we have at the moment. It was never an edge of your seat match.

Exactly,4 weeks ago we were first, people said "don't moan we are top",last week we were second, people said "don't moan were second"now its fourth. As for Constables goals scored/games played, who gives a flying f@@k how many goals he scores in the paint pot trophy ?who gives a flying f@@k how many goals he scored 5 years ago in non league football. The only thing that matters is that in the last 2 years, since scoring 2 against Plymouth in October 2011 he has managed a magnificent SIXTEEN LEAGUE goals,Legend.

When Beano hits the ton in goals for Oxford United ,(let's see in about the next six weeks) and then breaks Atkinson's record, (I predict around April), what are you going to be doing then Saddletramp? Cheering the lad to the rafters I would hope. Because that's what all proper supporters of our football club should be doing. Rather than mithering away about non-league this, paint pot that. We all know he has his faults. But leave it out. Any would think you had an agenda in seeing Wilder and the club failing from the way you go on. Let's see what happens in the next three or four games before consigning the season to the dustbin. When the history of the football club is rewritten in say 40 years time by an aged Martin Brodetsky, Beano will be considered to be an OUFC legend. Whether you like it or not.
