I have to say that it is a pleasure to watch the quality of football we're playing at the moment. After the game last night a few of us were chatting and someone said they thought we're currently playing the best football since Denis Smith's first spell in charge. I think I agree, what do you reckon?

It's a pleasure to watch. We're patient, play the ball to feet. When we get free kicks we don't push everyone in the box and lump it forward (not that we'd score from a set piece : . We just get the ball moving again, keep the ball moving and wait for the right moment to play the forward pass. We're confident that a chance will come and sure enough it has. If we can stop conceding goals that would be great. They did get a flukey deflection for their goal.

A neutral fan who has visited all but two of the 92 league grounds was visiting the kassam for the first time yesterday. He said he couldn't believe the standard of our football as it was far to good for this level, and that five or six goals for us yesterday would not have been Flattering.

One aspect of our game that we really need to improve on though is our delivery at corners. We seem to find it difficult to find anyone who can really whip the ball over at pace.

We have been treated to a high standard of football this season, this is the best stuff I can remember seeing since I first started going to the Manor.

I think I agree, what do you reckon? I said exactly the same in one of my posts last night (I think.....I'd had a few glasses...... ) I took a German friend last night, who typically watches Fribourg (who I think are in the Bundesliga this season). He couldn't believe that it was the 4th tier of English football he was watching - I had to convince him it hasn't always been this good!

It has been good to watch but we need to
a] learn to defend corners b] learn how take corners c] improve on the first touch - too often it skims off a boot straight to the opposition
Apart from that its good at the moment - long may it continue

Or you could realise your watching fourth division football and not be so hyper critical.

It's a pleasure to watch at the moment, credit to the players and especially Chris Wilder. We deserve what's happened since CW and KT have come to the helm. We have certainly had a rough ride, and had to endure some shocking football too. I hope we never have to endure Atkins/Patto type football again at this club.

Agreed. The standard of footie is, at times, the highest i've seen Oxford play for many a year.
I often come away from the stadium feeling like i've actually had value for money, and you can't ask for much more than that!

On the drive home last night I was thinking about the last time I saw football of this quality and enjoyment last. I also thought it was probably the promotion season under Dennis Smith. This season has a similar feel too as it was not until the New Year that we really came alive that season if I remember correctly.

Im not a pessimist....Im chuffed we're doing well and think with current form we can go up. However we've also been served up the "same old tripe" a few times. Im thinking some of the home games pre christmas.

Bluddy typical! I missed last night's game, so United played great, Asa (F*ck all) Hall scored a goal, Beano gets two, we get three points and my poxy radio couldn't get an arse-tickling signal! Am I p*ssed off? It's better than being p*ssed on, I s'pose!

For me the best football ever seen from Oxford was during the 2 back to back promotions under Jim Smith, superb passing, goals galore, cup runs, we had it all
Magic
But past is past and now is now & I'm happy with the way we've adapted to being back in the leagu, in the main

Was thinking about this last night, and our recent football especially the Bradford and Shrewsbury home games, has been the best performance's I have seen from us in years. Long may it continue!

We haven't reached the early 80's standard yet and that was in a higher division as well. But for a Level 4 division the standard is high, very high!!

We are playing good football, my only gripe is that we do not get the ball upfield quick enough, often we spend to much time playing it sqaure or back giving the opposition time to regroup laso on a goal kick why do both sets of players all group to the left or right , there is half the pitch empty.

Disagree. How - except via route 1, how do you expect us to get the ball upfield quickly? We'd lose the ball if we started countering at every opportunity.

i realise you do not counter at every oppurtunity, but ther has been many a time when we could and havent. If there is a oppurtunity in the game for a route one attack then do it.Keep the opposition on ther toes.We can be too predictable.
