With the tickets now starting to sell, it's time to post an update/reminder, for which I won't apologise! We are looking at the Party of the season on September 21st after the Chesterfield match (apart of course from a putative celebration in May for the 'p' word). You'll be able to mingle with OUFC legends, members of the first team, development squad, youth and ladies team, as well of course as your friends and fellow fans. It will be a memorable evening. Money raised will go into the 12th Man Fund to help reach the Yellow Army's goal to raise £20,000 for Chris Wilder to spend in January on the playing squad. This Saturday tickets will be on sale at a stall outside the 12th Man Bar before and after the match. To reserve tickets for collection, or find out how to pay by bank transfer email me at treasurer@ox12thman.org.uk. Alternatively you can buy online via www.oxvox.org.uk and collect tickets on Saturday or we can post them to you. Ticket prices are £50 for two adults, £30 single adult ticket, £10 ages 7-14, under sevens no charge. However, if you have a large group (including large family groups) sort your numbers out, email me and we'll discuss a group discount. If you are able to come, please help us by booking early, and please encourage your family and friends to come too! We're pleased to announce that Oxford legend Dave Langan will be the guest of honour. Before the Chesterfield match he will be presented with a cheque for more than £5,000 raised by fans to help him buy a mobile home. Further VIP guests will be announced shortly. The ticket price includes a premium quality barbecue - see below for the menu. YELLOW ARMY PARTY MENU: Two Hog-roasts: locally farmed Benson pigs, slow-roasted and carved on show) with breads/ apple sauce. Home-made Oxfordshire beef burgers with sliced cheese, tomato, red onion and gherkins Chicken Peri-Peri with black olives, herbs and roasted tomato dressing Cajun-Style salmon brochettes with marinated vegetables and herb sour cream (optional)/ haloumi Skewers Vegetarian Sausages with soy and rosemary. Served with vegan cheese (on request) Roasted mini jacket potatoes with garlic and herb cream cheese Crisp green salad with choice of dressings Crusty bread rolls Sauces Warm Milk and White Chocolate Brownies English strawberry Eton Mess with Whipped Vanilla Jersey Cream.Entertainment will include a professional disco, two fun casino tables with croupiers and 'Yellow Army' money, children's entertainment, including a rodeo surfer and bouncy castle, an auction, and to set the ball rolling (so to speak) a six-a-side competition including a United legends team. It will be a great evening, doors will open at 6.15 and the event proper will run from 7-11 pm. Once you've booked, feel free to add to this thread to say you'll be there.

You do like an unanswerable question don't you Junior! Who knows what players will be there as it is still 4 weeks away! I would imagine some of the management will be there, Mickey Lewis wouldn't miss out on a hog roast!!

If you cant afford it/wont pay the asking rate why do you want to know what players/management/oxvox will be there? You appear to be icredibly bitter and twisted about everything unless they play in red and come from Manchester.

2 adults, 2 kids, albeit one being free works out quite expensive. Are you going?

Just heard it's Tommy's birthday p*ss-up down the Cowley Road that night so sadly I won't be attending. I probably wouldn't have gone anyway to be honest.

I am looking forward to this. A Saturday night out, with first team players, ladies squad, young development squad, directors, management, as well as a lot of fans, sounds good to me. The food looks amazing, and tge entertainment will be good. There is a big bar and dancefloor, so I best not drink to much and dance like a fool. It will help cement the spirit of the club, and bring the fans closer to the club.
I will be there with my girlfriend, and am looking forward to enjoying a rare night out, with people who share the same passion, as well as helping raise money towards the £20,000 target.

As ive said on the other thread on the subject,£90 for me and the family, far to expensive for me,(plus about the same for the game in the afternoon). So good luck, and if they ever do something that the average fan can afford,me and the family will be there,

Considering it cost £84 to sit on a train to York last year I don't see why people are moaning.
£25 per adult doesnt buy a lot these days unless you are in B&M Bargains.
I like to moan about oxvox, the owner, manager, club as much as the next man but I think it's pushing it on this one.
Me and the Mrs went to see some pony film in the Odeon in oxford the other week. It cost £21 for tickets and close to £5 for drinks. The film was 90 minutes and included no food nor meeting the actors.
It just £15.60 for 4 pints in the pub!!
May not be everyone's cup of tea and after some of the problems with the yellow army people may be concerned but I don't reckon it's a bad price

Thanks Carefree.
We would love to make it cheaper. But we want to put on a good event, as a fundraiser, to help towards the January transfer window. We have tried to find a balance.
It's not often there is a night out where the profit will go to Oxford United. It's going to be a good party.

It was a really good night. A few first team players were there, as well as Adrian and Ian Lenagan, Mickey Lewis, Andy Melville, Chris Allen and other back room staff, as well as Joey Beauchamp Jamie Brooks and others. Dave Langan was the guest of honour, and it was great to see him there. There were some of the Womens and development squad, and around 150 fans. The 6 a side was good fun, and the food was great.
I think the evening raised over £2,000 (we are still collecting money, so the figure isn't final yet) which will be going to the club in January. Thank you to those who helped make that happen.
Thanks to all who came to make it a really good evening. Seeing fans, players and staff mingling together, was really good to see, and it helped to bring the fans closer to the club we support.
