Id like to see Wilder chuck a couple of other youngsters in the team along with Marsh and Crocombe. Maybe O'Dowda.
I think this will be a score draw 2-2

Bradford found to have fielded an ineligible player for 10 games despite losing 2-1 today. Bradford are deducted 3 points. Chesterfield and Fleetwood draw. We win by 16 goals and take 7th place.
Simple.

Crocombe Batt Raynes Duberry Davis (Lynn 75mins) Potter Whing Davies Rigg(O'Dowda 75 mins) Marsh(Smalley 75mins) Constable
1-2 Contstable & Davies (fanny Jeffers for them)
I think if he starts Smalley or Pittman they must have been offered new contracts? I would like to see O'Dowda start in place of Rigg but can't see it happening!

Yellows to win 3-0 in a storming display of attacking football and we are left to reflect all summer on a season that might have been...

If Smalley is offered a new contract we can give up on promotion next year!
Let's sign off with a win and starts for Marsh and Crocombe.

Today is our biggest game for 14 years. If we get a point or at least avoid a heavy defeat, we will finish above Wycombe Wanderers for the first time this century/millenium.
Come on you yellows!

It really says it all, smalley over marsh. Surely there will be no new contract for smalley so why not play young marsh for 75 mins. Mind you the contract has been signed so we can play eleven 35 year old cripples all next season now and then go through all this again when we finish eleventh or lower

That's my thoughts ^^
It's a meaningless end of season game yet he still won't start an outfield youth player.
What makes you think next season will be different?

Maybe they are thinking of taking up the extra year on Smalleys contract...
Also they know Marsh will be here next year so he doesn't have to play for his future Smalley does.

I have a vested interest in another L2 match today.
I have been to every ground on which Oxford have played a competitive match, and watched Oxford play, within 75 miles of where I live. Except one. Kingsmeadow. I have tried to get a ticket in each of the last 3 years, but each year the allocation has gone to S/T holders only. If you can't beat them, join them. Next season I intend buying an S/T, even though I will hardly ever use it, just to get to the front of the queue. At less then a tenner a game for cretins like me they are good value for money.
But first - Wimbledon must avoid relegation.
And there is a distinct advantage to being a YP regular. You never get to see a grotty game.

Afternoon all.
Back home now after my trip to the UK to see the family and get some football in.According to my calculations, we should have been comfortably in the playoff positions and was coming to cheer them on to Wembley. Well, as we all know now, it was'nt to be and there goes another season. Was'nt it bloody cold at Northampton. That was the coldest I have ever been in my following the U's for many years.
I go for a win to sign off the season with Beano getting the winner.
COME ON YOU YELLOWS

I trust him to know better than you when is the right time to bring in youth. Offering youth contracts is far more important than giving them game time in matches where they may not be ready.

Greetings, one and all.
I hope that the youngsters get a run out towards the end of the game...which will mean we're winning comfortably!
Glad to hear that Chris Wilder will have next year to show everyone that he really can take our team to at least one more promotion.
Come on you YELLOWS!!!!!!

I'm sure I'll get hammered for this, but I wouldn't be adverse to Smalley staying. If his wage is indeed high, then I'd want to renegotiate but I think he's a smart, young pro.
Not necessarily going to bag a huge number of goals but he would chip in if he remains fit - which would also need to be assessed - and he links up the play well. We'd need to sign someone who does knock em in too this summer regardless, but there's something about Smalley's play which I like.

My worry is that if they are not ready to play in a meaningless end of season game then when will they be? Pretty concerning that 25% of next seasons squad are not ready to play now, presumably they will undergo some amazing transformation over the summer and be ready come August?
