Congratulations to Mark Sennett and the other new officers of Oxvox. After hearing Mark speak on Radio Oxford after the game, it was made very clear that the new rulers of Oxvox are much younger than the ones who have retired. When it was announced that they had left for personnel reasons, I did not realise that they had moved into nursing care for the elderly . Now that we have a more youthful, vibrant committee in charge, I do have a few concerns on how the future of Oxvox is going to run. Being so young, I hope that they do not forget about us old un’s . We don’t want money wasted on bringing in dancing girls and disco music at halftime. Bouncy Castles on the pitch will not sit well with PRB, although a ball pool could be useful. Marks comments about himself and Jerome suggests that the new Oxvox will be transparent and informative with their members. On second thoughts, bring on the dancing girls (and boys) at halftime, even at my age I can still dream. Must go I have milk to deliver around the Marston area.

As you are now aware I have accepted the position of chairman. I'd like to thank the departing committee members for all their efforts. This is an exciting time for the trust and my main aims are to try and improve the image of the trust, attract more members, and ensure that we are in touch with our membership so we are aware of their views and concerns. We also hope to build on the good relationship that we already have with the club, a point that club stressed themselves in their official statement. I am delighted that Terry Winter and Matthew Cavill have joined the committee and I am sure they will be huge assets. The average age of the committee is now 35 so we can't be accused anymore of being an elitist club consisting of older fans! Currently we are looking for up to 3 more committee members and we have already had a couple of applications. So if you would like to join the committee please email us through our website oxvox.org.uk or pm me. The nomination period closes in 14 days time (full details on our website). The Oxford Mail have also run an article on the changes www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/8920998.Fans_welcome_new_OxVox_chairman/Over the next few months you will see a lot more of oxvox we will be aiming to explain to people what we do and what the benefits are Of joining. One of those benefits is having access at our members meetings to senior members of the club. In the past Kelvin Thomas has done a Q&A with members and on 23 April before the Chesterfield game members will have a Q&A with OUFC director Jim Rosenthal. So if you're not an oxvox member now is a great time to join and it's only £5 for an adult for a year or £15 for 3 years. You can sign up via our website.

Further to the recent changes we have three spaces available to join the committee of the Trust. Closing date for nominations will be midnight Monday 11th April.
An election will be held if we receive more than three nomination forms.
