Mens team sprint just got gold in WR time! Well done to Chris Hoy, Jason Kenny and Philip Hindes.
Unfortunately Victoria Pendleton and Jess Varnish got relegated for an illegal change-over.

Was it 4 world records in 4 GB team races? The GB girls would have won gold too. Stupid rule that GB got disqualified and the Chinease did the exact same thing and got dropped from gold to silver.

It's not a disqualification though. They were just relegated, which means they lost their one-on -one match up and the Ukrainians advanced to the semis thus Britain couldn't possibly earn a medal. The Chinese on the other hand had already reached the final and a guaranteed medal, and quite rightly they got relegated. It is a tough rule, but rules are rules and the judges are right to stick by them - at least everyone know where they stand.

Yeah the punishment was exactly the same. Both were relegated so lost their tie. In GB case they went out, in China case they lost and got silver.

That Cycling looks really easy. Get a gold medal for just wizzing round a track on a bike?

Would have been even more medals if the rules hadn't been changed to just allow one competitor from each nation.. and also dropping some of the established cycling events.
Comparing it to swimming, in which there are about 50 medal races, and they can have 3 people in each event, then we would probably be above the USA in the medals table if they applied the same limits to both sports.

I agree. But it would benefit us even more if they introduced new events such as morris dancing, maypole dancing, cheese rolling, pancake tossing, conkers, marbles, pigeon racing, hare coursing and the yard of ale.
