What are your favourite? For me, in no particular order:-
Daley Thompson winning the Decathlon and whistling the national anthem (LA 1984)
Linford Christie winning the 100m (Barcelona 1992)
Chris Hoy's 3 Golds (Beijing 2008)
Steve Redgrave's 5th Olympic medal (Sydney 2000)
Men's Hockey gold (Seoul 1988)
Kelly Holmes double Olympic gold (Athens 2004)

Coe v Ovett, 800m and 1500m (Moscow 1980) - my earliest Olympic memory.

Derek Redmond. Barcelona 1992. I think the greatest British Olympic moment. And the one thing in this world (other than Alfie Potter's 3rd at Wembley) guaranteed to make me tear up.

1988 and the hockey win. I remember watching it on a TV in a lorry park in Kent. Steve Redgrave winning the 5th and Coe v Ovett. Britain ruled the world for those brief minutes. Oh and Alan Wells at the same games. I remember the excitement in school the day David Hemery won the 400 hurdles in Mexico. Glad I'm not the only one that gets the lump in the back of the throat whenever I watch Alfie score that goal.

Completely agree and would have posted myself but thought I'd read the thread first. Watched Come Dine with Me on C4 last night and Derek Redmond was on it. Came accross as a bit of a plonker, though this doesn't detract from the moment in 1992.

Remember meeting David Hemery shortly after he won his event as he visited our school along with Neil Armstrong who was visiting the university

Id go with Daley Thompson in the Decathlon, and Linford Christie in Barcelona 100m
There's been so many great moments in the Olympics, and not just from GBR. I liked the Olympics in Atlanta when Micheal Johnson broke both records for the 200m and 400m
