Problem is this country relies heavily on banking, it is 10% of our GDP (I think).

I lost a lot on RBS on the advice of my brokers. I thought that I would just get a steady dividend year on year, instead of which Shred wrecks the bank and grabs bonuses like all the senior executives. Pigs and troughs spring to mind. Now they are state owned they are still getting bonuses for making big losses...grrr

If the banks and housing market had been left to their natural level the btl landlords would really find out who has the bailout.

Just two but fortunately doing very nicely after a few years anxiety. I took a risk and it has paid off. How many have you got or did you miss out on all the excitement? Have to speculate to accumulate

Worked for both these companies in the past. Glad I don't anymore as staff morale is low at both banks although the top people always look after their own interests

To be fair to Lloyd's, they made an operatingg profit but the PPI scandal has turned that into a 3 billion plus loss. It's not great, but they aren't RBS.
