I'm sure Marzipan will start a thread saying this v soon but as I have him on ignore (guess that must make ne a disciple like everybody who disagrees with Marzipan) I won't get to read it so I thought I'd save him the effort!
So bored of the doom mongers (some of whom clearly have own agendas). I know a couple of people who are fairly itk and they don't seem as troubled as Marzipan, Eric et al!

In all honesty we need to win this game and turn our home form around. I'd fancy our chances if we go 4-4-2...

If we don't win this, the playoffs might well end up being a very tough task. Every week the matches are getting closer and closer to being must win, and while a point was sufficient today, I can't see the same being true next week.

You are responsible for us not beating Barnet. You are clueless, your tactics are poor. You can't motivate. Everyone thinks you're the messiah.

Hereford was a 'must win'. We didn't win so what exactly is the point of these 'must win' threads. Nothing seems to change if we don't win a 'must win'.

Ouch!!! sodding close for that last promotion play off place!!...your 7 behind 5th place Torquay and 6 behind us with you having played two games more!!! And only 2 points between you and 11th with Gillingham only needing to win their game in hand to knock you out the playoffs. Not gloating but although some of your fans have been giving it "A MUST WIN GAME" at every opportunity which must wind your real supporters who believe in your team right up, they may well now have a point...the next few weeks will be vital for you and those around you, if the gap above you grows it leaves lot of teams fighting for that last spot. However...as many of you have to keep telling your doom and gloom merchants it is a marathon and not a sprint, it's going to be interesting to see who has the bottle to stay with it over the next few weeks!!!

February will be key, from then on our games get tougher. We need to win most of these games to give us a chance when the really tough games come along.

A few stats for you to chew on:
We could end up getting into the play offs with only 6 more wins from 18 games! 72 points now looks like the target for 7th place so 6 wins, 11 draws and a loss will achieve that! That looks too easy so lets assume we get 8 wins then we will need 8 wins, 5 draws and 5 losses. 9 wins would allow us to lose all of the games against the teams above us and we only need to draw five of the rest.
On form over 8 games we are currently in 6th place despite having only won three of those games.
If we repeat the poor form of the last 8 games we will end up on 72 points.
Barnet have won more games than us in the last 8 games (4 v 3).
Barnet have won two and lost three of their last five away games.

I want us to finish strongly and at least end up in 4th place so we are the form team but just showing that we are a long way from every game being must win.

I have had a look at some of the fixtures for the top teams between now and the end of March....The table at that time is going to make some very interesting reading!!! One other factor is that it will be interesting to see what happens with Crawley...great run in the FA Cup, they will feel they can pull off another shock home to Stoke meaning going even further than they did last season..which means possibly taking their eyes of the league, and now losing Tubbs before getting a replacement...Frank Nouble of West Ham as knocked them back and it appears Evans was so confident of getting him there is no plan B.

We, as in OUFC, need Crawley to go on a winning run in the league and make sure they take as many points off our competitors as possible. The have had their share from us!
