I can't understand why so many clubs are in trouble due to owing so much tax. Do chairman etc put tax bills down their list of priorities when paying their bills? This kind of thing seems to be happening all the time at the moment.

This kind of thing seems to be happening all the time at the moment. They do. Traditionally the IR have been very reluctant to put such populist businesses out of business, whereas banks are much more inclined, and there are sanctions for football debts.

IR have changed their attitude to clubs and now show a no nonsense attitude to clubs
