Did he stand on the ball again today? There was some outrageous show boating at times by Stevie MaC

hes class and love the pat on the refs back as he was telling him off after he did the quick free kick directly at the player 2 inches in front of him, as if to say yeh ok mate whatever.

MacLean is class. I can't understand how someone can moan about his contribution. We haven't seen someone of his quality 'round our way for quite a while.

When he took the ball towards the corner flag near the end there were loads of moans around me especially an idiot directly behind me who was screaming at him. He stroked it back to Tonks and a few more seconds were used up. Most of the other players were allowing the ball to ping around and it was coming back towards our defence a few seconds after we had cleared it. Maclean tries to take some pressure off and all he gets is slagged for it. Sometimes I wonder if some of our fans understand that football is not all about huff and puff.

"and now we cross to kasstad kate...."
"What did you think of the game today sir?"
"I thought Constable was useless. He should have scored."
"and you, sir?"
"Good result but it was an awful performance...we need to errr...errrm....pass to err..erm...the players"
It's plain to see that a lot of oufc fans know nothing about football. Beano wouldn't have "missed" those chances if he hadn't been sharp enough to get in behind in the first place. Hackney sounded terrifically exciting, MacLean is a very, very clever player - the like of whom we have not seen in a yellow shirt for many years - Purkiss isn't as good as Batt i don't think but he is still solid and does a job, likewise Tonkin, who is improving every week.
And these are the same people that want Midson to start every game because he scored one hattrick. Can't get my head around it all!

Don't worry, every club has their fair share of people who seem to be watching a different game. But then that's what makes life so interesting. Imagine what it'd be like on here if we all agreed with each other!

Have to admit when he did that me and few around me where saying ehat the f*ck and then we shut up and and where impressed even more

If we get promoted we should go all out to sign him, if not cant see him staying as he is way above L2 level!!!!!!!!!
Was interesting when Hackney pinged a ball in and Macca missed it at the far post, he just wasnt expecting it - shows the quality of our crossing before hackney came

Feel a bit sorry for Macca because he cant seem to buy a goal and when they do go in, such as the pen, its anything but straight forward.
I personally think hes invaluable. Especially when we have Craddock on the pitch. The two of them just know how the other plays and operate on a higher level to Beano, which funnily enough has been great for Beano because hes a much better player when the pressures off.
Its no coincidence that Beano & Craddock have been in great form since Macca arrived.

Hopefully the goal today will give him the confidence to get a few more.

Stevenage is interesting. Do you fight fire with fire at the Lamex with Beano up against Ashton and Roberts who love playing against physical opponents or do you try and play a pass and move game with maybe Midson upfront with Beano coming on (especially with Morecambe around the corner three days later)
I would be inclined to play TC, MacLean and Midson at Stevenage and start Beano on the bench like the Torquay and Aldershot away games where we won.

By the way Midson did brilliantly for our first goal yesterday where he stayed on his feet out wide and played in Heslop for superb first goal.

I thought there was some great inter-play between Hackney and MacLean at times. Both look classy

Agreed - Beano was out muscled there last season so he may be more effective coming off the bench against tiring defenders....
