Instead of calling it the 'whatever' stadium, could we just call it 'The Hope And Glory'? Got a ring about it, don't you think? Oh, hang on - so has my *rse.

Can't we just call it 'The Football Ground'? I really, really hate the name of OUFC's home ground. I can't say 'our' stadium, 'cos that b*stard has still got his f*cking name on it....

Moving away from the 'new name' theme for a minute; United are playing in a stadium that's only around 40% full. Obviously, if we don't start moving up the table and we lose to the likes of local rivals, Wycombe, I fear the fans are going to stay away even more. Naming a new stadium isn't our problem any more - filling it should (and hopefully will be) the priority. Sorry about the bluddy cliche, but football IS a results game. We need more positive results - and soon (again, sorry about the bleedin' obvious). Funny thing is, though; I believe, given time, we WILL pull through.

I agree with what you are saying but have to pick you up on something that you really should know.....wycombe are NOT local rivals. They are just a local team to us.

I sit here corrected! Wycombe are a local team, not local rivals (try telling that to Wycombe fans!) My point is, playing a 'local' team SHOULD encourage more fans to come and watch the game. That remains to be seen, on Saturday................

I liked "The Isis Fields" of something with Isis in it as suggested by someone else recently. Eeek. Probably not the best idea anymore...

How about some forward psychology? "A full to capacity stadium". I can just hear Jerome saying "And this afternoon Oxford beat Northampton in a full to capacity stadium", and everyone in the shire thinking "ooh (aah) I'd better get up there next week".
