Rooney is uglier in my opinion. Tevez is ugly too but I'll give him his dues part of that is down to an accident.
Yeah I'll go for Rooney

Ability wise fairly similar, but I think the difference between the two is that Tevez, despite off-the-field issues is never anything other than 100% focussed on the pitch. Rooney lets things get on top of him and is inconsistent.

Depends on the question. If it's who's uglier, more obnoxious, has shagged more grannies then the answer is Rooney. If on the other hand it's who is the better player, then Tevez is the answer. A very poor bit of business by Ferguson letting Tevez go, and then letting Shrek con him into giving him a 100% pay rise with a five year contract, and then almost straight after that he started to play shit. Not one of his finest moments of his illustrious career it has to be said.

How long has Tevez now been in the Premiership, four, five years ? This is the first season he has been more prolific than Rooney. That answers the question pretty emphatically in my book.
If you are talking about natural talent or the best team player then its a no brainer, Rooney all day long. In terms of work rate its a close thing, both possess prodigous work qualities.

Something tells me you just like to be controversial baldy!
Tevez was on the bench a lot at Man Utd and before that, played for a team in a relegation battle. You can't directly compare his goalscoring record to that of Rooney unless you work it out goals per game.

Tevez scoring ratio for Man City is 0.71 goals per game
Rooney's is 0.47 per game
No contest

Do penaltys count?? How many has tevez got this season? Not looked but I bet if you take away penalties from Tevez he has still scored more than Rooney.

Is Rooney also a penalty taker? He's certainly got a couple this season, I assume he took Man United's penalties last season too.

Good point. I suppose we can add that to Rooney's list of desirable attributes, who else can kick a ball so high for so long?

Rooney is a far better natural talent in my opinion. Much rather have Rooney in my team than Tevez!

Tevez is more consistent, Rooney is out of form for prolonged periods, and I don't just mean since the World Cup. Tevez doesn't play a peripheral role very well, as proven during his time at Man United, but build your team around him like Man City have and he'll rack up the goals like few others can.

Would rather have tevez. I think the players are similar, in fact I think on form Rooney is probably a better player....However in my team I want players who are Honest and professional...two attributes that Rooney has showed he simply doesn't have.

Honest, didn't tevez do what Rooney did and plonk in a transfer request?

Honest, didn't tevez do what Rooney did and plonk in a transfer request? Tevez supposedly didn't get a pay rise or a longer contract out of it though, and he certainly didn't get a move - and yet he's still producing the goods. Rooney actually GOT what he wanted and yet look at him recently. So many top flight players are money-hungry that we might as well just take that as a given now, the only question is whether they justify it by their performances on the pitch or not.

Honest, didn't tevez do what Rooney did and plonk in a transfer request? Not sure he did officially, he made public his homsickness but got over it, although i'm not sure he's completely happy. Tevez would have every right to demand a transfer, scored bags of goals, could play for a bigger club and his attitude and work rate is unquestionable. Unlike Rooney who has been poor for 6 months and has the cheek to question his club's ambition. Fergie made a big mistake, he should have told Rooney to eff off to Man City and kept Tevez, a far, far better player

Honest, didn't tevez do what Rooney did and plonk in a transfer request? Yeah but it didn't affect his football. Rooneys off the field issues have left him "off form" for the best part of a year!

Honest, didn't tevez do what Rooney did and plonk in a transfer request? It's not dishonest to ask for a transfer request, in the right situation. What was dishonest was that Rooney made up some bollocks about how the club lacked ambition etc when it was perfectly obvious he just wanted a payrise. If Rooney can sort himself out off the pitch and get back to form on it then I think he's as good as anyone in the world (bar Messi and Ronaldo) If he can't then sorry, I'll take Tevez.
