Can I claim the whooossssshhhh BY? If it makes you happy! Can you imagine being a genuine football fan having to sit on a coach full of that lot? They'll probably all be wearing their Man U shirts. Or Chelsea maybe.

It's not fair to single out the Crawley fans on this one - stones and glass houses come to mind.
We took over 30,000 to Wembley.
The fact that they are going to Old Trafford purely with thanks to a sugar daddy and Kidderminster (and other clubs) are in the sh*t is a sad reflection on the game saying that!

Crawley in my mind are dealing with dirty cash, one day it will bite them on the back of the bum when they least expect it, life can be tough but at least Oxford are in the clear

It is their Final after all, and I dare say we would all be going if it was us. As they are going up as BSPB Champions, I expect anyone in Crawley and the surrounding area will go to Man U for a day out. Like other posters say, where did 20,000+ emerge from the woodwork for Wembley for us? I think the new owners must be legit enough to do a full on assault on the league, so perhaps people who live near Crawley are perhaps finally latching on to their team. In reality, I should perhaps be an Oxford City fan growing up 1 mile from there Abingdon Road ground, but chose United instead a decade later once I got my first love of league football and hometown. I wonder where other posters' real home teams would be?

Bicester Town. Been three times...
Or it could go all the way back to 'Highfield' I live the other side of Bicester to the social club, but live near the field they play football on.

27 so far. Meanwhile, their supporters coach to Wrexham has been cancelled due to lack of interest. Not too surprising. Which would capture your imagination most:- To see your local team play a) in the Theater of Dreams, or b) in the Theater of Sheep? I seem to remember that our lowest home gate was against Wrexham just before the play-offs. It was a dead rubber admittedly but many of our loyal supporters gave that a miss to save up for the remaining fixtures (or maybe it is a Wrexham thing?). Incidentally, local team = Botley United.

Local team- Fulham.
Can't really see the problem with 27 buses going to Old Trafford. How many times will they get to see Crawley play somewhere like that? maybe if they play well enough then enough people will become fans that they increase their gates.

How many did we take to Old Trafford when our sugar daddy was in charge? I seem to remember it was about 3,000 for the mid week cup replay game where we drew thanks to a Brockbuster. I also remember about 30 coaches lined up at Everton for a mid-week cup game which was after a Brocked up Back Pass.

I was Rochdale by birth.
On the crawley issue, there is definate potential for their fanbase to grow. The place has a huge population of just over 100,000, that's only about 50,000 behind Oxford and yet their average home gate is still much lower compared to the population that OUFC's.
I guess there's the influence of other clubs nearby and easily accessible, but if Crawley managed to raise their profile sufficiently and made a real effort to bring in the fans, I think they could reasonably expect their gate to rise to 5-6k.
