Was going to book on-line for tomorrows game but backed out when i saw the £1 booking fee. I know it's only a pound, but surely the idea of the on-line system is that it takes the pressure off of the ticket staff answering phones and dealing with people in person. I do understand there might be some extra cost involved, but £1? It defeats the purpose surely? Also, seat numbers don't come up when you 'hover' above a seat, so all in all a thumbs down for me! I will try and get to the ground by closing time tonight to get my ticket for tomorrow to see the might yellows! Anyone else feel the same? Or am I just in a bad mood?

I think it's generally excepted that booking any tickets online results in a booking fee. Gig booking fees can be £2.50 so £1 to the club we all love is very reasonable.

They tend to call it an 'administration fee' and i would say its probably justified by the fact that it covers ticket printing and dispatch which still involves staff.

That you can buy a ticket at the office without the fee suggests it doesn't cover ticket printing. There is a separate postage fee (or nothing if you collect from reception). Which leaves a debit/credit card fee (as you are not present when they process the transaction so the club gets a fee from the merchant services provider), and an admin fee to cover the cost of running the on-line service. I'd prefer to see the fees put at actual cost rather than arbitrary £.

Printing and processing would happen if you attend in person, so it can only be the website costs.

I think there's a merchant charge on any credit card transaction whether you're there or not, 2-4% of value iirc. Always imagined the admin charge covers putting the ticket in the envelope & postage plus some element of commission to the agent. it's not that bad when you consider that Ryanair charges £6 each way for using visa plus another £6 each way for web check-in.

The online part of the operation is run by Ticketmaster; you're lucky not to be paying a booking fee, a card fee and an administration fee; how the FL got it down to a quid is a miracle in itself

Oh dear Steve, he may have to get suddenly injured by a rash tackle from an ageing centre half in the back garden on the 20th? :-)
