There seems to be a lot of amazing new cars which dont have indicators on them. These new cars send telepathic signals to other drivers and pedestrians which way you are going or going to turn!!!
Story: Was in Southampton waiting to cross the road. Watched the road, saw cars indicating so didnt cross. Then this car comes along, no indicators so I thought, will cross the road. He turned, nearly hitting me, beeping his horn! So I shouted, "dont you have indicators you t*at?" He pulls over, gets out of the car and said "What did you say?". I said "you could have knocked me down, you didnt have your indicators on, so thought you were going straight on and I could have crossed you t*at". He replies, "I did indicate". Then a old lady came over and said "I saw that as well, you didnt indicate and could have killed this young man". The guy turns to the lady and says "Sorry this has got nothing to do with you, can you go away old lady". So the old lady storms off. He turns back to me and says "You got a problem son?" I said "Yeah, your a t*at and should learn how to drive". He pulls out his warrant card and says "p*ss off before I nick you for something"
t*at!
So....... use your indicators! We are not f*cking mindreaders!

I have to admit, having lived and travelled to a lot of countries, particularly here in Asia, am actually more scared on the UK roads that others.
I feel with cars these days having airbags galore, ABS, safety, people seem to want to take more risks. People driving too fast, too close to the car in front, not slowing down in wet weather or simply not concentrating are just some

Airbags should be replaced with a 6 inch metal spike on the steering wheel. People would then drive slower & leave a safe gap between themselves & the vehicle in front.

What annoys me are people who potter along in the outside lane at 85mph. The fact I've steamed up right behind you, slamming on my breaks six inches from your bumper is a clear indication that I'm in a hurry and that my journey is a lot more important than yours. Just move aside, so I can belt it past at 110mph, and everyone's happy. Cheers!

Anyone who has visited Paris will surely agree that our roads are safe as houses compared to there!

Anyone who has visited Paris will surely agree that our roads are safe as houses compared to there! But drive anywhere else in France and it is much much safer because it is simply less busy. In any case, the fact that Paris traffic is mad is testament to their traffic management system is it not? - At least their traffic moves! - Imagine that in London! I spent three weeks last year driving across France and Switerland. By far the most dangerous (and scary) part of the entire journey was the bit on the M20/M25 and M40 on the way back compared to the pleasure of driving on the autoroutes.

The autoroutes are paid for by tolls though aren't they?

People who indicate too early at roundabouts making you think theyre turning into the road you are exiting ....i usually pretend to go to pull out just to shit them up,usually upsets them sufficiently

Personally I think taxation on motoring is about right. Yes, petrol is expensive so downgrade to a more economical car and use your car only when necessary. I'm sure that statement would be harsh on a handful of people living in rural areas who already drive a Ford Ka, but the vast majority could easily cut their costs by doing the above. Our roads and the planet cannot sustain the current volume of traffic.
My problem with the current situation is that instead of investing in and subsidising public transport, services are being cut and its getting more expensive, which is an absolute joke.

My problem with the current situation is that instead of investing in and subsidising public transport, services are being cut and its getting more expensive, which is an absolute joke. You're right. I work in Twickenham, just inside the London zone, it costs me more to get into work by train than by car, which I find absolutely scandalous. What sort of incentive is that? The reason for this is that train companies are privately owned and run as businesses, if the demand is there, then they hike the prices up. So we're in a vicious circle - Governement increases taxes to get us off the roads, public transport companies increase prices because of the extra demand for their services - and so on, and so on, so the general public who actually want to work for a living ends up getting right-royally shafted! Most other countries, public transport is stupidly cheap in comparison that if you like saving money then it's a no-brainer. Money from road taxes and fuel should be used to subsidise public transport.

Try driving in Malta!! Entering a roundabout priority is not to the right and you have priority going in. Problem is that Maltese drivers know that British drivers are polite and slow down to give priority. This causes all sorts of problems with the Maltese refusing to give way to entering traffic
